Bright, not very warm
I installed this into a Hunter 99153 Low Profile Light Kit and am mainly pleased with the result. This light kit was always frustratingly dim and this light engine has certainly fixed that (in fact, it kind of hurts your eyes to look directly at it!) I power both the fan and the light from one switch so I can’t install a dimmer, but that might be something you would want to consider. As you might expect the light from this is pretty directional. The diffuser from my Hunter light kit helps, but I wish the light was more evenly spread across the room. But that’s not really a big deal. The light engine is very substantial, nothing flimsy about it. My only beef with this thing is that although I bought the 7 inch, 3000K version, this puts out a much cooler light than you would expect. Just looking at this, I would have thought it was the 4000K version. Being that this is used in our bedroom, the warmer light would’ve been very desirable.

Wonderful
I was on the verge of removing our new bedroom ceiling fan in order to have a ceiling light bright enough to see adequately. We had replaced an older ceiling fan with a newer model. The new model came ONLY with 2 candle opera bulbs. As hard as I tried, I was only able to find 60 watt equivalent bulbs, including LED. The lumens from these two bulbs was pathetic. I went to a light fixture speciality store for a solution and they told me there was nothing I could do except remove the fan/light combination and replace it with a ceiling light only fixture if I wanted more than two candle opera light bulbs. I choose the 4,000 k as I have actually gotten to prefer that color light over the more typical 3,000 k. Installation took some inventive engineering. In the end, I am so glad I bought this LED unit. This LED fixture allows me to continue to have a ceiling fan and a bright lumen light fixture all at the same time. It turned out so good that I invited a professional electrical contractor (a friend) to take a look at the finished product. He was impressed enough that he asked me for the LED product specifications should somebody ask him to solve the infamous ceiling fan low light problem.

Required some creativity for install but happy with results.
I installed this in a Fanimation ceiling fan that had come with an integrated light kit which had poor light. This kit was a little difficult to get installed in place, given the way that fan is set up. I anticipate that installation in a regular flush mount fixture would be very straightforward and simple, but on this particular light kit I had to drill new holes and bolt it on so it required some DIY. Overall a great kit and the light is definitely brighter and a more natural light color than the previous 2700k but depending on where you are using it, it may require a little extra creativity on install. I also have this on a Lutron caseta dimmer and it works well with that.

The LED Retrofit I've been looking for.
I've been looking for a solution to replace the 8" circline florescent bulb in my Hunter ceiling fan for a while now. I wanted something brighter and whiter than the existing 22 watt 3000k bulb with a humming ballast. This 7" LED engine worked out quite well being almost 50% brighter with a color temperature close to the bedside Philips 5K LED bulb. I find it just a tad cooler but still "daylight" (great for reading). Bonus, the high pitched humming of the ballast is gone (along with the ballast). I cut the electrical connector off of the ballast and wire nutted it to the LED engine wires to make it plug and play with the existing fan wiring. The only thing I am unable to confirm is dimming performance since the fan is not using one. The non-dimming remote module from Hunter works just fine with the new light.

Very bright
I retrofitted one of the 300W halogen torchiere lamp with 4000K 28W light engine. Right is the LED light engine, and left is 300W halogen bulb. The brightness is 79% of the 300W halogen bulb. The room illuminance is 146 lux with LED, and was 184 lux with halogen. This engine is the brightest LED retrofit kit I could find in less than 8in diameter. I am satisfied with the luminance. The color look correct to 4000K. The halogen bulb is known as 3000K. The LED looks a little cooler. It takes an hour to get familiar to the new color. But it is still comfortable. Not harsh as an office. The product package includes common light fixture hardwares to attach the engine to a fixture. I used the included bracket and bolt, along with M4 nuts and washers I have.

Works great but requires diy
First thing I want to get out of the way is that the + - wires are bare, meaning you will have to possibly cut the wires on your original one and put the connectors on this light. you will need some basic sills to get this to work. Soldering gun etc..The specs of this light matched my original and only differs in color. I soldered my old connectors to this and it worked flawlessly. I used it to replace a yellow led light on a fanimation blitz. Would buy again.

As described Super White light
We bought it to replace the OEM Home Decorative Ceiling fans 3000K (orange look and feel lighting) You would hope that for $200+ ceiling fans (and we bought 3 of them) there would be options on brightness. Thank goodness for the solutions as we ended up purchasing 3 in total (2 from one other vendor and 1 from this one) and they were the same and fit the billing. Now we have Super White bright lights and love our fans!To add, they are dimmable with the original ceiling fans which makes it even more convenient as they are remote operated. How cool is that!!!

Nice replacement option 3000k color, 4-inch
Just the right fit for an overhead dome light in a bedroom. These are fairly easy to retrofit into most fixtures, but my particular fixture in this application was a little tricky to mount. Just took a lot of time, up side down against the ceiling. My arms got really tired.Other than that great kit, provides uniform lighting and is dimmable. The week before I bought this product, I put the light fixture on a new dimmer, so I could optimize this unit's effectiveness.Worked out great, happy with the results. Only give it 4 starts for now, will edit review in a year. Want to see if it holds up over time.Nice!
