This Emtrix® fungal nail treatment has been a really helpful product for tackling stubborn nail fungus without the need for any filing or sanding. The cream formula goes on easily and absorbs into the nail and surrounding skin without leaving a greasy residue, which makes it comfortable to use day after day. I noticed that with regular application the affected nails began to look clearer and healthier, and the skin around the nail felt more nourished and less dry. It doesn’t work instantly, but given how persistent fungal nails can be, seeing gradual improvement over a few weeks was encouraging and meant I stuck with the treatment. The extra-strength formulation seems to penetrate well, and a little goes a long way, so one tube lasts through most of a treatment course. This product kills the fungus it can reach and softens the affected nail but you must cut the dead nail away if you want results. I went to a podiatrist, but with an appointment every six weeks progress was slow and expensive. I realised I had to do the Podiatrist’s job at least twice a week to get anywhere so I bought Podiatrist tools. It’s not a good idea to scrape out dead fungus from under the nail with a pair of scissors. You need to use the right tools so that you don’t introduce infection. I found Podiatrist nail clippers useful and then I bought a handheld electric filing machine which takes off the surface of the nail. This lets the product get through the nail to the fungus which is growing on the nail bed. This product won’t work unless you use it once a day. You can also paint neat tea tree oil onto the nail. This limits fungus growth but doesn’t soften the nail very effectively. But if you succeed in getting rid of your fungus, you could use it to prevent re-infection. Oh, and don’t forget to throw away your old fluffy slippers which are doubtless packed with evil fungus. And treat any ordinary shoes frequently with antifungal powder.
