OMEX Lathe Alignment Test Bar 2MT - Test Mandrel - Alloy Steel EN31 - Precision

I used it to align my tailstock using centers (not the Morse Tapers). It allowed me to precisely align my tailstock, and there was essentially no measurable run-out from one end to the other using a 0.0005" per division Mitutoyo test indicator. Would gladly buy this company's products again.

Centering dimple/hole on one end, MT2 adapter on other end. Allows accurate alignment of lathe head and tailstock.

Seems well made with nice finish. no problems.

I was a bit worried about this purchase because some buyers had indicated their products were not straight, but the 180mm piece I purchased appears to be straight and true based on my test indicator. Very helpful for aligning the tailstock on my Precision Matthews 10/22 lathe.

Used for chuck to tail stock alignment. The only improvement would be a nice box for storage.

I rarely write a bad product review but unfortunately, this is one of them. This test bar has a taper at the end of about 0.003mm which I can easily live with. Unfortunately, it also has about a 0.08 mm bow in the middle that makes it very difficult to us to align dividing heads and rotary tables.I thought that maybe something was wrong with my dividing head so I tried this bar on my lathe which I had aligned with a coaxial indicator, this bar was way off. Too bad. I'll keep looking.

The media could not be loaded. I received this "OMEX Lathe Alignment Test Bar 2MT - Test Mandrel - Alloy Steel EN31" - Precision test bar from Amazon in an undamaged box. I chucked up the bar in my lath to check the runout as the listing says the ber is true to "0.0001". Please watch the video which shows this bar to be "0.010", far far from the accuracy claimed. My Latth chuck does have a runout of less than 0.001". Simply put this bar is worthless for any test one would use it for on a lathe. Some reviews say this bar is excellent! I would like to see a video showing this, because it seems it is the luck of the draw if some actually receive a quality bar.
