MagpulIndustries MOE M-LOK fits Mossberg 590/590A1 Black Forend

The forend fitted great on my Mossberg 590 and I tested it out immediately after installation to make sure there weren’t any issues. I had no weapon attachments at this time and my Mossberg does not come with a heat guard. So I did not experience any complications as other users reviewed.I believe it looks great, ease to install, it’s worth the money, the grip feels great.

Had to modify my heat shield a bit on my 590 security 12ga. Works great, fits great. It's Magpul, so it's good quality and isn't too expensive. Simple to install, watch a YouTube video and it's simple to put on. No complaints here.

Fits fine on a 500, does feel better, I prefer my little strap on my shockwave. Adds a touch of bulk, but 3 m-lock slots and feels much better than the corncob. Swells out at the ends to cup your hand. Racks feel more pronouced. Worth the price for handling and flashlight mounting alone. Feels solid, not cheap. I guess the magtube length may cause problems, but why not just get a longer magtube anyway? Mine looks standard as can be in factory clothing, and it flopped right on there. The gun is less than 15 years old, closer to 10.

This was an awesome add to the Mossberg. Great grip, great looking. Only issue is you cannot use a heat shield if you have one.

This will not fit older models. Buyer beware.

So the short version of this review is, I like it. It does what it needs to do, has modularity that adds value, and it is affordably priced.The long version is I like it, but I cant say I love it. The major disadvantage of the Magpul MOE forend is its slippery, it requires a death grip to operate if the bolt is gummy or sticky in any way. Now can that be fixed? absolutely, you just need to spend a little more and get some appropriate grip tape, or a one piece pre-cut grip tape section that molds over the bottom. From personal experience, I would say find a higher quality one than the CDS tactical version that is advertised on Amazon because it does not fit the new model forend and is incorrectly described. With grip enhancer installed the forend is highly functional, it has nice high sides that not only allow you to mount accessories to the forend (lights, hand stops, etc) but also it prevents your hand from contacting the barrel meaning you dont really need a heat shield. There in lies another issues with the Magpul MOE forend; without compressing your heat shield in a vice this forend does not play well with heat shields. Obviously you can fix this with sand paper and a vice, but honestly Id say chose one or the other. If you have a heat shield and just want an improved forend with better grip, and you dont care to mount stuff to your forend look into the Hogue rubberized forend, its just about perfect if you must keep your heat shield.So there, that is the good and the bad on the Magpul MOE M-LOK forend for the 500/590 it's well made, feels solid and installation with the included tool was easy. Is it the best forend? No, but it is a good forend, it just might need some modification to fit your needs. I rated 4 stars as its value, build quality, and modularity mostly make up for its shortfalls.

Looks good and feels nice. The M-LOK seems functional. Tool is included which made this a 5 minute installation.

Fantastic. Cant go wrong with anything magpul really. Also got a mlok rail from them i will install with this so I can mount a light.
