Q: When listening to music or watching a movie...does the subwoofer under or over whelm? I want to be able to "feel" the bass.

I don't notice it overwhelming but the sound seems balance. I doubt you will "feel" the bass.

Q: Does this sounder have an audio optical output port. I know it has input but I ned an output to connect it to my bluetooth hearing aids streamer?

It only has HDMI output. Can’t you connect your streamer directly to your TV?

Q: Can someone check and see if this is truly 5.1 surround with the optional rear speakers. Some say that the rear speakers just match the front audio.

As indicated in the title, the LG SL6Y 3.1 Channel 420W Sound Bar w/DTS Virtual X & High Resolution Audio is a 3.1 system, but when you add the LG SPK8-S 2.0 Channel Sound Bar Wireless Rear Speaker Kit, it becomes a 5.1 system. You need to turn the Surround function on to enjoy full 5.1 surround sound otherwise when the function is off, the rear speakers will duplicate the front speakers in the Sound bar. You also need to make sure that your source is also 5.1 surround and that your TV also supports 5.1 ...^IFV
