Don't let them snap together.
Yet another pair of extremely powerful Magnets. They come packed in bubble wrap with nothing but a plastic divider separating the two of them, and can easily become stuck together. Separating Neodymium Magnets can be difficult and dangerous. When they snap together it's quite a violent collision that not only causes them to explode, but also creates a sizeable spark. I always recommend gloves and safety glasses. As with all Neodymium Magnets, if you're just starting out with this kind of Magnet I recommend a lower power rating. Otherwise enjoy.

Incredibly good and powerful, yet very delicate.
The Neodymium Magnet I purchased is unbelievably strong. It's imperative you heed the warnings that accompany theses magnets. Also called Rare Earth Magnets, they are delicate. Unbelievably strong but can shatter if allowed to snap/crash into each other. I have over a dozen. One cube, the rest - 3-inch bars. They pinch, they hurt when they pinch, they snap together with force, which also hurts, unless you follow the manufacturer's safety instructions. I have shattered three of this type of magnet. They are as dedicated as they are powerful, which probably sounds weird, but buy a couple if you wish to know what I'm talking about.

More awesome & useful than you'd think a little magnet could be
This little cube magnet is awesome. I bought it to use to hold my paperclips. I kept seeing magnet sculptures to play with on your desk, so I thought I'd find a cute magnet and make a sculpture with my paperclips-- It's perfect. I dropped a bunch of paperclips from a few inches above and they all landed on the magnet (these were extra large coated colored paperclips). You can play with them, pull one off to use, or ...some other idea you have for a magnet. It's the perfect amount of strong, has a very nice finish (in the picture it looks like some sides may be brushed, but they are all shiny in real life). I'm sure there are lots of other uses, that's just what I wanted this one for.

CRAZY AMAZINGLY STRONG!!!
I ordered two of these cubes and they came wrapped in layers of bubble wrap with plastic washers to protect the poles. The packing list included a separate page of warnings. Do not take these warnings lightly. The magnetic field around these things is over a foot. When they become closer than that, they can and will slam together with an unbelievably violent force. My two cubes became stuck together, I couldn't believe how much force the two combined created. I managed to drive a wedge between the two and got them separated, but didn't move them far enough apart and they quickly slammed back together. Of course they chipped, but not so much that they weren't still usable for my purposes. The warnings stated neodymiums are brittle, and they are, just don't underestimate the magnetic field these large N52's produce. They are a lot of fun to work with, but they do have the potential to be dangerous.

An attractive item
It sticks to things. Very strongly.I actually was a tad underwhelmed at the force, but DO NOT think it isn't extremely strong. I have this and the 1.26" sphere magnet, and could not separate them from opposite sides of a .1" divider without sliding them apart (your fingers will slip before it gives). This magnet has a "sphere of visible influence" of at least 9" radius. The pull force against my fridge door is probably 25 pounds; against the sphere magnet, probably 100 or more. If I hold one in each fist so that they repel, it is not possible to bring my fists stably closer than 1" from one another. Put one on each side of your hand, and it feels like someone is stepping on it.If you put it in its package and close the lid, the package will jump and seat itself inside the lid from about a centimeter away. For safety, keep it at least 18" away from anything metal if it's unguarded, and double that from other magnets. If it slams into another Neodymium magnet, something is going to shatter and send molten sparks flying. (Luckily I haven't had that happen yet :) )The coating was not perfect, but very close.TL;DR: safe for responsible adults. Probably the biggest magnet that you can safely handle--with care, of course! If given to children, these will create blood blisters and could possibly draw blood or break fingers. Caveat emptor.Update: Ouch! Yep. Slammed my fingernail in a moment of absentminded carrying. No blood but it was only a glancing blow. I reaffirm the previous comment: don't let children play with these. The magnet slightly cracked but did not shatter, in my case. Got lucky. :) They have plated it really well. If it breaks more I'll cook the pieces at 350F (demagnetizes them) and throw them away: large fragments of magnetic metal would be rather dangerous to discard. Will update if needed.

Powerful and I only bought the one
It definitely is a POWERFUL magnet. I am glad that I order the magnet with the storage box it (the magnet) needs to be in one for its protection and any metal around. It is like dealing with a small child who doesn't want to take a nap, or go to bed when you're trying to get it back in the box. I had a harder time getting back in the box than getting it out, and use the plastic holders to keep it in the box, it will pop out and adhere to the metal cover.I have a much bigger magnet that is also powerful but I needed a smaller magnet to keep in my car to reset the fuel, and (now the) coolant gauge when it goes under the needle. It always happens when the battery gets weak because I haven't driven it for a time or maybe I didn't close or shut something all the way, or when it is happening more often it is time to get a new battery. I have found that you have to have a powerful enough magnet to move the needle(s) back. Sure you can take the dashboard apart and reset it that way, but it will only hold until the next time. Unfortunately I do not have the patience, and usually the time to do this. Problem solved.
