Sully 8001P Universal Portable Transducer Bracket

When purchasing this item I was concerned by some of the negative reviews, but finding no other alternative I purchased this mount, hoping the few good reviews were accurate. We were traveling from California to Minnesota for a week long fishing trip to an unfamiliar lake and needed a fish finder to help navigate the lake bottom and thus we needed a transducer mount to attach to the rental boat. The mount was confusing to assemble as noted in all reviews, but when figured out it worked very satisfactorily. The mount attached easily to the boat and remained firmly attached for the entire week only requiring tightening once or twice. I am not an expert but I am very happy with this product. I can see if mounted too low below the boat bottom and with a high power motor, that it could create a substantial amount of drag and possibly bend under high speed. Due care in mounting and operating the boat with this mount installed should produce excellent results. I would recommend this product to others.

Wanted something I could use on my flat bottom boat and take with me on vacation to use on a rental boat. This product is exactly what I wanted. It works great! Well made product made of aluminum so no worry about rust. The instructions on how to put it together could be better but not hard to figure out.

Works great for my depth finder on the side of a jon boat. Allows me to take it off when im dragging it in and out of water so i dont ruin the depth finder. Also nice to be able to move it between boats. Clamps on the side and no fear of it falling off. REALLY DURABLE! Worth the money. has made my life easier

Bought it to mount a Hook 2 triple shot. Had to do a little work on the transducer bracket so it would fit and put a few screws in so it wouldn't wobble at trolling speeds.

I am planning to mount this with my Garman Striker on a fiberglass canoe and later on an aluminum row boat. It should work just fine. As others have said the clamp as it comes from the company will definitely mar the fiberglass--unacceptable. Take the cotter pin out of the end of the clamp and add two or three washers between the Cup on the end of the clamp and then reinstall the cotter pin. The cup will now tighten against boat and not the end of the screw no more marks. I also added some rubber padding. A few other little alterations and my transducer for the striker sits nicely in the water and adjusts with plenty of depth. It only comes with 8 screws and nuts, 4 of one size and 4 of another. I have the 8001 P. The directions are not great but you only want it to clamp on your boat and be adjustable up and down. It does both things.

I use a portable gps/fish finder they provide a suction cup mount that is totally inadequate. This product is great and you never have to worry about losing a transducer that gets caught up in the motor. Well worth the cost.

This think does not work at all, The included hardware is wrong for the application, should be lock washers included, the instructions are absolutely atrocious and it will basically just fall apart, Tried to use it for a jon boat and it is completely worthless, you can check my other reviews, I usually rate on the high side and am pretty forgiving but my advice on this product is Do Not Buy It.

Great product. I fly into lakes to fish in Canada and this is the best for rough use. No suction cup, this clamps onto the transom for a secure mount to your boat. I have had one for several years and order this for a new locator.
