Swopper Classic - Orange Seat / Orange Spring

If you have a bad back, this chair makes you sit very straight and work on strengthening your core muscles. It is a fun chair to use. It stays in place and the stem is springy so that you can easily get up and move, which is a key benefit to not sitting in the same place for too long to promote back health. I describe it to friends as a stool on a spring. The seat part has great cushioning. I have been using one of these chairs for 10 years at my office that I bought myself and just bought another one for my home office at my second home. I use it when I'm working on the computer, sewing, paperwork and whenever I'm sitting at my desk. This is the best chair I have ever sat in. It's the only desk chair that I ever want to use.

Started using one of these at work 15 years ago, eventually migrated it to the home office and now, with 8-9 hours a day of teleworking from there, it was time to move it to another use. I ordered, hoping that the quality would still be there, and am not disappointed in the slightest. If you have hip, back or posture issues you should seriously consider the SWOPPER. And did I mention how much fun it is to bounce up and down every so often?? Even when you aren't on a video call...

I have one of these at work so it wasn’t a blind purchase. I love sitting on this chair but the price originally made me hold off on a purchase for home. My one at work has held up great, and I was tired of sitting in cheap chairs at my desk at home. This is worth the money, a purchase I strongly suggest.

I love how I feel after using this stool. It really is like yoga stretching while working.

I love my Swopper; it helps me get thru long documents. Two things that could be improved: Lower the lowest seat setting or offer a smaller size and make it less expensive.

Best chair type device ever! Great for the core and back.

The stool is an effective replacement for the Aeron chair that, sadly, was destroying my back and fattening my waist. I sit and stand at my 36" high moderately-raised traditional desk and work for 8-16 hours each day--without discomfort.

I purchased my Swopper about two and a half years ago, and loved it from day one. Not only is it comfortable enough to sit on for hours on end, it also makes it impossible to sit still. I find myself constantly bouncing up and down on it while I do work at my desk. Unfortunately, I sat on it about 2 weeks ago and heard a loud cracking sound, then looked down to find that the spring had completely fractured. I'm assuming this is related to metal fatigue, but it seems like relatively poor longevity for such an expensive chair. Fortunately, I am still within the 3 year warranty period and I'm waiting on a replacement to arrive. I was informed that these chairs cannot be repaired and that there are no parts available. That would be quite a sad situation had this happened six months from now. I may get industrious and try to find an equivalent spring once the new one arrives and I can take accurate measurements. I asked Via seating whether this is a common occurrence after some period of time, and they assured me that this is a very rare event. I gave the chair 4 stars, but had I written this review a month ago, I would have given 5. When I consider the boring temporary replacement I'm using at the moment, it makes me realize just how much the Swopper is missed. Other than the broken spring, it has been absolutely perfect and well worth the money.
