Opened my eyes to the world of an introvert
This book is very well written and a great resource tool as well that I am sure I will re-read it over and over again. I am an introvert and so is my young son whose teachers think he is lazy and not interested in school but he is overwhelmed at times. His teacher even mentioned to me that when she is admonishing another student in the class my son seems to take that on board as well and is reluctant to ask for assistance and seems to space out in class as he is extremely shy and reserved. It definitely challenged my way of thinking as I was under the misapprehension of thinking he need to be "more outgoing and have more friends" and putting unnecessary pressure on him to achieve that goal. Thank you so much for giving me the tools to help him be himself and not feel like he has to change to be accepted. The other kids views and personal stories added to the belief that introverts do view the world differently and we all need to do things to recharge our batteries - for me it is quiet time reading a book to unwind after a hard week at work. Even if you are an extrovert this book will give you the understanding to not pre-judge others and to glimpse what it is like to live in the world of an introvert, be it your husband, wife or another family member,

Great for parents and teachers!
I first checked this book out from the library, looking for answers as a mom to 2 introverted (& 1 extroverted) kids. As an introverted child myself, I have not been concerned with my "quiet kids" yet I have been saddened by their grades for performance at school. They are still young, 1st & 2nd grade, but knowing that they feel smart & proud as students, I also found myself wanting to shield them from their report cards & grades. My 1st grader has not spoken in class this entire year, & even though she is probably the smartest of my 3 children, her grades were the worst on her report card. She is also very sensitive & is affected deeply by what others think of her. I liked this book so much for addressing parents AND teachers that I bought a copy for each of my kids' teachers! I am hoping that they will read it & find some tips & tools to help draw out mine & other introverted children. This book has also been helpful to my husband, helping him understand the fear of failure that strikes our son & makes it extremely difficult for him to do things in front of an audience, even things he is really good at! Our kids are a work in progress, but having tips & strategies will make the work that much more meaningful!

Helps to understand the little one
So, I'm a psychologist and our 3 year old grandchild is introverted. I bought this, read it, decided it's got some great advice and passed it on to our daughter for them to read and get a better understanding of the challenges of introversion in today's world. It's a good purchase.

Soooooo repetetive.
I was very excited to read this book because of great reviews..Im only on chapter 4 and Im having a very hard time continuing because the book is SO repetetive."As mentioned earlier".. "as mentioned above" .."as stated earlier".. etc. Also, what is the point of saying in chapter 2 we will talk about this.... then in chapter 5 we will discuss this... ? Seems like a waste of words... like the author is just trying to fill a page.If I get to the end of the book ill update..

Practical advice for parents of introverted kids
I originally checked this out of the library and have found it so useful, I decided to purchase a copy. I have made quite a few changes in my routines. I also have become more confident in my parenting decisions. I recommend if you have or think you may have an introverted child or student.

Great read. I have a 5 year old who just can't transition to kindergarten. He gets over stimulated and acts out by crying. When I finished the book I found it very helpful. Easy to understand/ follow. Highly recommend!
