I have many smart devices and mainly use the Smart Life app as well. These plugs connect quickly but have limited use with Alexa. You can work each separate outlet from Smart Life but not from Alexa. Alexa app sees this as one plug and turns off or on both plugged in devices at once. If I had known this I would not have purchased these plugs. Not very useful. I tried to follow the instructions left in the customer questions as this is a question a customer deliberately asked. It didn't work. Limited voice control usage be warnedUpdate: Ok so I figured out how to get Alexa to recognize each separate outlet. After initial setup in Smartlife app and naming each outlet on the plug separately when you go into Alexa she will recognize the overall plugvat first. Only after you run a discover devices will she then recognize each separate outlet. Took me a few days to understand this but it does work. You can then voice control the entire plug or each outlet separately. Updating my review to 4 stars. I would give 5 if this was explained somewhere. Hope this helps someone

Took almost a dozen tries to get each set up. Each worked for one cycle of on/off then promptly died. No lights. No function. Listed as offline. Left unplugged for over an hour, plugged back in, and still just a worthless hunk of plastic.I have now bought 8 smart plugs, two have been working for over a year. One didn't work out of the box, the other in that set worked for a week. Was promised replacements for months by manufacturer, never got them. Amazon didn't refund my money because the company dragged the process on until a refund was not allowed then stopped responding. Now these 4, each worked one cycle and died.Clearly there are issues with this technology still.

I have only been using this product for a couple of days. If any issues arise, I will update this review.So far, the plug has worked very well. It was very easy to install using the Smart Life app, and it was even easier to connect it to Alexa. I was concerned about that, because I have never had a single device with two functions, but there were no issues.Alexa handles the plugs in an interesting way. I installed one in our kitchen to use some supplental lighting. I called the device "Kitchen" the left plug "kitchen lamp" and the right socket "kitchen light". If I tell Alexa to turn on the kitchen, both lights come on. If I tell Alexa to turn on the kitchen lamp on, only that light comes on. I think that's really cool.The device has functioned perfectly so far. Note: this is a 10 amp device. I would double check the rating of any appliances in to it. It can handle most things, but I would still double check! Some alliances require 15 amps.

I purchased mine a while back. Initially, it worked fine but now after several months (Christmas time) I wanted to control my tree along with all the decoration lights in my house, I unplugged the "smart plug" and replugged at different outlet and it stopped working. I tried to reinstall the plug but neither the Alexa or the Gosund app recognized the "smart plug". Now it's a paper weight. I tried going to Gosund website, first of all, it DOES NOT allow you to put in a review of their products. Even you click on the cursor to put in a review, the website automatically scrolls down to the webpage. It's like that prank website when you try to click on the GO button the screen, the GO button continually moves around the screen avoiding the cursor. And the ONLY way you can contact them is through email. There's no telephone number or help desk to call. POS. It appears that intentionally avoid to having to speaking to any one with issues.

I expected these to look more outdated or even cheap, but they're actually quite modern and sharp looking. I really like that they only take up one outlet, effectively doubling the outlets you can access. I did have some trouble getting the device set up in the app, but that was because I had missed a section of the directions. Once I realized that, it became much easier and and got done very quickly. The Google Play version of the app is quite easy to use; each device has it's own quick-access from the home screen, and if you go to the device (rather than use the quick access) it's very easy to just tap the outlet image and turn it off or on. You can also set up a schedule for one time use, certain days, or every day. Alternatively, you can set a count-down to turn the outlet off or on after a certain time. I was concerned that these would be difficult to use without an Alexa or Google Home, but the app is really user-friendly. I have noticed that one of the outlets doesn't always turn on/off at the scheduled time, but that may be something I can fix by removing it from the app and re-connecting it, I just haven't tried yet since it turns on so easily with a single tap.

I love the dual socket. I don’t have a light fixture in my living room, so I use lamps to keep the area well lit. it used to be an extreme hassle turning on and off each lamp. Now, all I do is pull up the app and press one button and both lamps go on or off. I also have them set to turn off on a timer bc I sometimes will leave the house and forget. I wish I could access this plug from my smartphone widget like I do my single plug, but it’s not too bad going into the app. If I’m able to use it on my widget screen somebody let me know so I can update my review. I haven’t tried them with Alexa yet, but I don’t even use Alexa often. This was a great purchase.
