I'm an accountant--not an electrician. My frugalness often puts me in situations where a professional is best suited. Amazingly, I was able to get my pool pump and the power pack to my salt water system hooked up without electrocuting myself. The app did crash while I was doing the initial setup. I just closed the app and restarted. Everything worked just fine.

I wish I could give this product zero stars. The app and timer are completely useless because they will not connect, and there is no way to set the timer schedule manually. We had the timer installed professionally, and it works in the sense that it will power on the pool pump if you manually press the on/off button. But under no circumstances will it connect to the app. I even purchased a wifi extender and plugged it in 6 inches away from the device in the hopes that it just had a really horrible antennae. Nothing I do, no settings I change, no equipment I buy will allow this device to connect to the wifi.Please do yourself a favor and buy anything other than this timer, I rolled the dice ignoring the 1 star reviews, thinking I might be lucky and avoid all the extensive bad reviews about the connectivity... but alas it is just that bad of a product.

For timing a pool pump or hot water heater this arguably the best unit on the market, especially for the money. It has a lot of functionality and flexibility and is weatherproof thanks to it being enclosed in a metal box that can be tightly shut.. The hardware is extremely simple, having just two buttons, a power button for manually powering on or off the device hooked up to it, and a reset button. It can power/time any device requiring from 120 volts to 277 volts. Setting schedules is done through an app. The app is NOT intuitive and takes a little getting used to, but it DOES work -- things are not obvious. For example, the first step in setting any start and stop time is to "Choose Timer" among a list different "timers" ("Programmable Timer", "Countdown timer", "Astronomic Timer", "Holiday Random", and "Security Random"). The user isn't really choosing a timer but rather choosing what type of timing they want to program, like an on-off schedule, a countdown ... I suspect English is not the first language of the app's designer (note the "random" choices are likely here if the timer is powering lights).Another nice feature -- the app will talk to the device over LOCAL Wifi OR the cloud. The user has the option to create an account and control the device across the Internet, but using their cloud feature is not required as you can simply control the device using the app locally, so long as your phone or tablet is on the same network as the device.

WiFi controlled unit works perfectly for my 220 volt roof top ice melt system and can be activated/deactivated from within the house or from anywhere with good cellular data or WiFi service! Excellent value for the money.

This timer works as advertised & I would it 5 stars for performance. We use it to turn our pool pump filter on & off everyday, and I really LIKE that we can have the app on our phones for convenience, so that we can turn it off no matter where we are, if we know there's a big storm coming. We also use this timer if we have a lot of people in the pool. We can set a countdown timer, which is helpful, to run it for a few more hours than our normal settings, which is on about 9 am & off about 5 pm. The electricians who wired it to our fusebox, liked it so much that they said they would be recommending it to other customers of theirs who will be installing pools.The only issue, whatsoever is the initial setup. I was having trouble with my iPhone, however, my wife has an android, Pixel 7, and I tried on her phone when I was about ready to give up & it was super easy to set up on her phone. Once it was on her phone, it was then very easy to set up on my iPhone. I did email support a couple of times, but it seemed as though they were not comfortable with English & any communication was very frustrating.That said, someone created a great product here! I do highly recommend it!
