This is the latest in Acrobat's continuing series of releases of material from the Ackerman Collection, which has already spawned a number of highly collectable gems. This collection comprises the four previously unreleased complete half-hour radio broadcasts made in 1953 by the great cornettist and bandleader Red Nichols.

Terrific!
In the interest of full disclosure I will admit admit to being a Red Nichols fan. I always have been and I always will be an admirer of his superb musicianship and his ability to entertain listeners without pandering to the ice-cream parlor type of Dixieland that plagued the Fifties and Sixties. But Red went beyond "Dixieland." He presented outstanding music and jazz that never left the audiences wondering what was going on. He gave them what they wanted to hear while maintaining the highest musical standards. There can be a fine line between entertaining and maintaining high musical integrity. Red Nichols walked this line and he did it extraordinarily well. Now if only someone would re-issue his terrific Capitol recordings on CD so we could hear more of his later recordings.

PERFECT!!
International, so it took a little time, but it was well worth the wait. Tracks that are not available in the U.S. New, well packaged and as promised.
