Easy to use
The gate is just what I was Looking for to keep a puppy away from a set of stairs but easy for us to get around when we needed to to go upstairs. Various ways to install the gate inside mount, outside mount, or one side of each. The gate appears to be well made as well as the 9 inch extension. How ever the beautifully printed on glossy paper booklet is a horror to follow. It makes a simple installation appear to be extremely complicated. Easier if you watch the installation video on the Baby Dan website. Customers have been complaining about this as far back as the 2015 (the point at which I stopped reading) reviews. Baby Dan should start reading the reviews.

Gate plus two extension pieces
I bought this gate to keep our two chihuahuas corralled inside our kitchen when we are gone. We were previously using the traditional wood and wire extension baby gate and it was cumbersome. This is so much better! It came today and I installed it within about an hour. I also purchased two extension pieces to make the gate long enough for our opening. Some people commented that the extensions keep the gate from folding flat and that isn't true. You just have to make sure you pay attention to the bends in the gate and insert the extensions accordingly. The instructions are only pictures, but I followed them okay.

Almost necessary for most US applications
If you live in the US and you have a house built in the last 20 years or so you'll need this; the BabyDan gate doesn't fit most hallways/doorways without it. Even so, the gate itself is the best gate on the market, so I sucked it up and bought this anyway.I don't know if the makers of the Babydan (Scandanavians) have really small doors or what, but they needed to take some of their R&D budget and fly someone over to the US --they need to pack 2 more slats in every standard gate, or at least offer a $5 "make it work" pack.

Just Perfect!
This is the only gate I found that will adapt to a great number of opening sizes without getting too tight or too loose. The system they have of small and large additions makes it very easy to configure it to the right size. Also, when you open it, the gate retracts to the wall and out of the way!We even had an additional challenge: one of the sides of the stain is GLASS. With a little creativity we made it work!

Amazing
We bought two Baby Dan gates and extensions because we loved the idea of it being slightly hidden and out of the way when not in use and because our stairways are slightly abnormal and these allow for some flexibility. I'd recommend these to anyone. Only negative is most standard homes in the US will need the extension piece to fit steps and hallways, so it's not as cheap as it could be.

Dont bother
Dont buy this. Look elsewhere. Manufacturer doesnt have inventory but still processing orders. Order will sit open for weeks.

!Measure your doorframe!
Before you purchase, measure the opening that you are trying to block. The standard gate *with enclosed extension slats* reaches a maximum inside dimension of 35" and they mean it. If your opening is 36" or better, get the additional extension pack.

a very good gate, though not as easy to open as i expected
the gate was fairly easy to install and works as needed. it looks great and keeps my toddler safe. my one disappointment is that it's not easy to open the gate (especially with a baby in my hands)
