Installed this in my 06 Taurus SE yesterday (with a single DIN Pioneer deck) and I am beyond happy!!! Just for complete disclosure- I am a woman, moderately technically savvy, and very good at finding videos on Google to help me tackle most any problem.The hardest part was running the wiring from the trunk. It's a pain in the butt to maneuver it through all of those little tight spaces (from the speaker/antenna hookup, through the back of the seat, down into the gutter underneath the driver's side rear door trim, to the driver's side front door trim gutter, up through the side dash panel, underneath the dash and up behind the hole that the new faceplate and deck will be going back into.)I DID have a friend come over just to make sure I didn't tear anything up beyond repair, or blow myself up, and I'm really glad I did because the literature regarding the final steps (splicing and crimping the deck's pigtail wiring into the wiring that was run up from the trunk) is VERY vague! In the end, it was mostly a job of matching up the colors, but there were a couple of wires that we didn't use (because my car doesn't have those options) (i.e. the retractable antenna), so these we just capped off. I'm definitely happy I had someone else to help out with that part because it's a little tricky.Overall, I would say it took us about 3 hours to complete the project from start to finish, but part of that time was spent procuring a wire stripper/crimping tool and the little connectors and caps for splicing the deck to the main wiring pigtail. My oversight...In the end, it fits perfectly flush, everything works just like it should and I don't have a TAPE DECK in a 2006 vehicle anymore! Hallelujah!!! Would recommend this product to anyone looking to remove the factory tape deck and do an aftermarket cd deck install. Very, very, VERY happy with this purchase!!! 😊😊😊

Works in my car pretty well, I have had it for 6 months now, and it doesn't shake or move around. Nice it came with the necessary wires to run to the rear of the car for an aftermarket radio as well.

This kit was really helpful for installing a CD player into my Ford Taurus 2005. I did have the help of my boyfriend, but I think that I could have done it on my own if need be. Something I wish I had known better before getting this kit is that it has really long wires that come with it that you connect to your CD player (solder them or use wire connectors) and you really do need to thread them all the way back to the receiver in your trunk. You can't just connect it to the factory connectors - they aren't made like that. So I don't have the wires completely tucked out of sight yet, but the kit works well and matches the inside of my car. The button for the rear defrost is in a slightly different place, but it works just as well. Also, make sure the CD player that you get is not very deep. There isn't a lot of room in there. My CD player was too long and it sticks out just a little bit. This is not a fault of the makers of this kit - it is a problem with the way the Ford of this (these) years were made. I have heard that you can get a CD player that is shallow enough, but I am happy with mine, I don't mind that it sticks out a little, and my boyfriend claims he can work something out so it looks a little more cosmetically appealing. You will also additionally want to get the dash removal keys (the name is something like that) for removing the factory made part in the dash as well as inserting and removing this dash kit as necessary.

It works, it fits great, the colors of the lights in the HVAC controls are much cooler (bluer not better) than the factory originals. and the back window defrost button and airbag light are just much gaudier and uglier than the originals were. If some time were put into the aesthetics that would be great. But as far as functionality goes, all the wires are there, it fits great, and installation could not possibly be easier.
