Greatly improves use of the tablet
The keyboard works well, Keys are well spaced and are responsive. It has a better feel than many. The case is a tight fit, but works well, especially the pen holder (I was always misplacing the pen). While the case and the keyboard bulk up the tablet, I find that I am using it a lot more. The keyboard uses two CR2025 batteries, housed in rear edge, on a tray that slides out. It has a pairing button and an on/off switch on the right side. The bottom features four low profile rubber feet that help it stay put.The case, when open, forms a stand. I've found that it also makes holding the tablet less fatiguing over long periods.

Well Built Product. Better Value Than Less Expensive Alternatives
I purchased this item to accompany my Venue 8 Pro.The Dell website has a great video showing what is included with this purchase and how it works:http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=460-bbhlCase:It is made of sturdy plastic, possibly Kydex. The tablet attaches to it by firmly pressing it into the case. Removing the tablet can be difficult and is accomplished by pulling at an exposed edge of the tablet, then working your way around the case. The rubber molding on the back side of the case helps provide a non-slip grip when grasping the case with the left hand. There are gaps in the edge of the case to allow access to volume up/down, power button, Windows button, and the speaker. There is NO gap that provides access to the MicroSD card slot. The loop on the back to hold the stylus was a little tight on mine. The inside texture of the loop caused too much friction against the rubberized end of the Dell Active Stylus. It also depressed the stylus buttons. I remedied this by inserting a fine tip Sharpie into the loop and left it overnight. This stretched the loop out and the stylus inserts easily. The keyboard attaches sufficiently to the cover flap. I like this design over alternative cases because the keyboard keys will not rub up against the screen. There is one draw back to the cover flap; it does not stay closed. I fixed this by using a #64 rubber band.Keyboard:The battery tray is located at the top edge and slides out to reveal 2 CR 2025 button batteries. The controls are located on the top, right edge of the keyboard. To sync, turn the keyboard on by moving the toggle switch down and exposing the color green on the inside of the switch. You will notice the power indicator light activates for a moment. Press and hold the little button that is above the power switch. The indicator light for Bluetooth, located to the right of the power light, will activate. The Ctrl and Fn keys are in the right order (in my opinion). The Ctrl key is on the left and the Fn key is next to it on its right. Other, less expensive, keyboards have these two keys in the opposite order, which I consider aggravating. The left Shift key is a little too small. I find myself accidentally hitting the ?/ key instead. The key mapping is off. If you look at the close up image of the keyboard, you'll notice the ?/ key is not located on the right hand side where you use your right pinkie finger. Instead, it is on the left hand side of the keyboard. The odd arrangement of keys is understandable since so many keys and functions are crammed into a tiny package. It is not a deal breaker. I bought my Venue 8 for casual use.I noticed that the keyboard disconnects shortly after logging in. This is a simple fix and not related to the keyboard itself. It is a Windows power management issue. I found an easy tutorial that resolves it here:https://www.wiknix.com/solved-wireless-bluetooth-keeps-disconnecting-in-windows-8/With Bluetooth constantly on, your battery might not last as long as it could normally, but it is worth the trade off to me.I hope you find this review useful. Thank you for reading.

Too small, impractical
Just too small for my medium sized adult male hands. Left shift, three-key chord to get to double quote...I just do not find myself reaching for this keyboard, typing on screen is more effective and convenient.

Unhappy with this product is an understatement. Ordered for my Venue 8 Pro Windows Tablet but unable to get much use out of it.
Don't have much to say about this item as i haven't been able to use it much. Just happy i didn't pay the overinflated price on Dell's website when i ordered my tabet and got it on sale, here, later...To be straightforward about the issue: I think the bluetooth radio in it is junk and they didn't configure it properly in production. If like me, you'd prefer to get the Dell keyboard for your Dell tablet, go aftermarket because this thing is junk.I paired it with my tablet and played around with it for a short time. Upon going back to use it, i was unable to. The bluetooth relationship doesn't stay. When turning on the keyboard the tablet doesn't see it. Well, i should expain... Windows sees the keyboard just fine, even says it's connected but none of the keys function. If i want to use the keyboard i have to remove the device and reestablish the bluetooth relationship and do whatever i need to before it goes to sleep. After is enters sleep mode, i have to reconnect it all over again and i can't seem to find any info about changing settings or any info at all for that matter. If somebody does find some i'd love to see it... Other than these connectivity/sleep mode issues, this keyboard is a perfect match for Dell Venue 8" tabets. The case that is included is the only reason i didn't return the thing but hopefully i can figure out these issues and change this review.I'm in the IT field, I can't imagine somebody with no insight on resolving technical issues using this keyboard.

Nice but makes Venue 8 Pro think and bulky.
Ok and protects the device but beats the purpose of buying the venue 8 pro as it adds bulk.

Good for travel - compact and attaches to cover with ...
Keyboard works well - connects to Dell Venue 8 with a lot less problem than other keyboards I have tried. Good for travel - compact and attaches to cover with enough strength to keep both units together. The keyboard takes a little getting used to as keys are smaller than normal. The cover is quite handy - with the screen flap tucked in back, the Venue is easy to hand-hold and when propped on side on table surface makes for easy reading.
