Seco-Larm Enforcer Access Control Keypad, Outdoor, Sealed/Weatherproof (SK-1323-SDQ)

This keypad is metal and not flimsy. We live in the country so it is very dark out here and the blue lighting really stands out. Installation was fairly easy. It works like a charm and is an attractive addition to our entrance. Definitely recommend it.

Great product. I live on the Gulf Coast and had to replace my existing ones. Our salt air is extremely unforgiving. The original keypads which are exactly the same lasted about 4 years and they still work even though they had extreme salt oxidation. The previous keypads I had were purchased through a different company. One of the keypads that I installed from Amazon the mounting holes were off. Nonetheless everything worked perfectly. Great keypad next to salt water. The all aluminum housing is fantastic and the bright blue backlit keys are the best.

Overall a great product. One thing to note, when the epoxy coating was setting on the rear of the unit, it protruded a little on a solder joint so I had to file it down and I used some automotive RTV sealant. I was concerned about a short on the metal I was installing it on because it was a solder joint, but it's working, so no issue. I think that this unit I got may have slipped through QA/QC because otherwise it would have had about an eighth of an inch gap and not flush against the mounting plate. I like the led backlighting on the keys and it has a good tone for the key punch so you know you are entering the code. Much better than the telephone style keys I had before from another mfg.

Paired this with an older FAPD G-90 gate with an Omega controller. It’s capable of much more than I’m using it for and tech support was helpful in answering some questions I had.

Whilst this looks great and so far works well there are some design floors. The back box is a little shallow which is fine if you can push the attached cable through the hole in the surface to which it is mounted but when that’s us not possible there is zero space for the trimmed down cable and its joints ( if reqd ) In attempts to push the front onto place by clipping at the top then applying a little pressure at the bottom to line up the screw holes this results in the top ( very thin ) lip breaking off. I do accept whilst writing this review that this was in part the fault of the installer but still a very easy fix if the back box were slightly deeper .

We used the "toggle" function on this keypad to hold a gate open indefinitely as needed for a customer that kept losing their keys to a keyswitch for the same function. They needed to be able to hold the gate open for moving multiple large trucks/trailers through the gate opening. This solved the problem.
