I've got these in all my families cars and they pay for themselves in fairly short order. you do have to clean them (probably about the time you'd change out a second paper filter) fairly simple but you need to let it dry before you oil them and re-install. My guess is that I'm getting better gas mileage and performance, but I haven't done a hard study of it. I can tell you that the wife's SUV got 17.5 on our last trip with some mixed in town driving and that's not bad for a 18 yr. old 5.7 Hemi.

Bought this for my 2000 Dodge Durango with the 4.7L V8. Amazon says it wont fit but it absolutely does. Great buy, and worth every penny. Has an obvious perf gain and its cleanable making it worth the money, even if it is a little pricey. Its K&N always worth it.

I bought this for my truck and yes I do believe that it allows the intake to breath better. But after I purchased it and installed it I never noticed any improvement. Maybe a little on the psychological side knowing that the engine will breath better. Then later I did some research and learned that I would just have been fine using the traditional paper filter. and also another con to the K&N filter is when you clean it be careful not to over oil it. As its very easy to do and this will allow oil to collect on your Air Mass Meter and cause your engine to run rough. Not that this is a big deal you just have to clean it as well. but I don't want to have to keep dicking with my truck. Would I buy this again for another car? No. not that is a bad product but I don't see the benefit in it.( maybe the benefit is im not buying anymore air filters) so Ill save the money next time.. I don't know its a toss up.

I bought one of these filters for my Jeep, and I liked it so well that I bought one for my truck and my parent's van. One of these K&N filters will outlast 5 to10 standard filters. At the recommended interval, you just wash it, apply a spritz of oil and put it back in the vehicle. The manufacturer claims increased horsepower and better mileage, but a 5% increase in mileage is difficult to define. More power? perhaps. but the real savings is in the life span of the product.

Like all K&N products I’ve used, this filter is excellent quality and will probably outlast my old motor. The product fit perfectly both the filter and the foam air box lid weather stripping.

1999 Durango 4x4 5.2 works good, but had excess oil and some small broken parts on the top (engine side). I pulled pieces off, wiped oil off, and installed.
