Inspiring Read for All Leaders
After reading The Better Leaders Better Schools, I was inspired to take action right away. Bauer’s manifesto challenges every leader to be the best they can be with both actions to take right away and long-term big ideas to drive your own leadership. Immediately following my first read of the book (yes, I’ve already read it twice), I implemented the Bauer’s journaling technique and it has already improved my focus and approach to my days. In the bigger picture, Bauer has inspired me to think about my why and what I have to offer in a deeper and more meaningful way - and to use that to start making my own Roadmap! If you are familiar with Bauer’s successful podcasts, you will be pleased to find that his tone in the book is identical to his tone on the podcasts. He consistently gives the reader and listener his truest self, flaws and all, in an honest and conversational tone. His approachability drew me to the book, and his fresh ideas left me wanting more. There have been few authors whose works have shaped who I am as a leader - Bambrick-Santoyo, Lemov. Bauer is a definite addition to this short list. This book challenged who I am as a leader, and left me wanting to be the best leader I can be. An inspiring read for new leaders, veteran leaders, and inspiring readers alike.

Danny Bauer gets at the heart of school leadership
With all the books, articles, podcasts, and other media noise out there scrambling for the attention of educaitonal leaders in the schools and classrooms, it takes a special book with an authentic voice to stand out and be different. This book, Better Leaders Better Schools, stands out. So much of leadership literature is outside in. Danny Bauer's take goes from the inside out. It connects with me in much the same way as The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People does. The book challenges educational leaders to take care of themselves, love others, collaborate and build success. Danny offers many specific ways to achieve excellence. I enjoy Danny's book as I enjoy his podcast. He is authentically from the heart and the passion and joy that he finds in developing powerful leadership in others is captured in his book as well. Please read. Enjoy it. Learn from it.

Simple yet Intriguing
(Read the whole review) If I'm going to be honest, I felt the first quarter of the book lacked originality and felt like it was a sales pitch to join his mastermind. Yet, something had me hooked. So much so that I finished it in a couple days. Ultimately, the book presents Danny's journey as an educational leader and who some of the biggest influences were/are in his journey. The book does have tangible guidelines however, I believe the "roadmap" is more a series of questions for the reader to ponder to take his experiences and implement them in your own school or organization. This is a very easy ready and well worth it. I believe this is a book for all levels of educators but also present meaningful nuggets for all leaders, not just education.

Amazing tool for become a Better Leader
I loved the Better Leaders Better Schools Road Map. I began listening to the Better Leaders Better Schools in 2015 and have been hooked on Danny’s content since. The passion and knowledge that he brings to what he does even drew me into the Mastermind a little over a year ago. I could write a book based on all the little nuggets that I’ve learned from him and my Mastermind colleagues (lightbulb), but I won’t do that here, all you need to know is that I am a better leader because of Danny’s vision and action.

I couldn't put the book down!
Danny Bauer has written a book that is filled with helpful tips on how to be a better school leader. If you are looking for ideas on how to bring innovative strategies in your leadership, I definitely recommend this book. One of my biggest takeaways from reading this book was his emphasis on ensuring teacher professional development is meaningful. Danny explains how at his school, they focused on letting teachers chose the PD that they participated in. In return, the teachers were responsible for sharing what they learned to school staff.
