Sony Standard Cover for READERPRS-T1BLACK

Pros:The cover works well to protect the reader in a rigid plastic housing (around the back of the reader) and keeps it's profile slim and tidy. Adds only 3/8" to width, 1/8" to height, and 1/4" to depth. The reader snaps in very securely. The cover stays closed nicely without any latching mechanism.The stylus can be clipped inside the spine, next to the reader, with slight displacement of normal closed flap position. The edge of the cover pulls back slightly more when closed than without the stylus clipped in. No functional problems arise, but it is perhaps slightly less tidy in appearance.I find the reader with cover comfortable to hold and use, as with a small, light book.Cons:Unfortunately, the price is higher than one would have expected, but it is well designed to provide good protection without much bulk, something other covers do not appear to achieve as effectively.If it is a concern, the SD card slot is not accessible while in the cover, though all other buttons/ports are.Review commentary:My primary interest was in protecting the device while keeping it small enough to be highly portable, such as in the pocket of a jacket or cargo pants (both of which work quite comfortably). I do not intend to rate on aesthetics as they are not a significant concern for me. (I think the cover appears simple, nice, and unintrusive.)That said, in my opinion, some particularly poor past reviews are unwarranted and seem to be based on individuals' sensitive aesthetic preferences.

Yes, you pay for the Sony name. The cover clips to the sides of the Reader. No straps across the corners or tape. Removable. Functional.After dealing with third party covers for my phone & tablet, I decided that it was worth getting something that was designed for my Reader, not just generic product designed to fit a bunch of things, but not fitting very well.You won't regret getting this.

I needed/wanted a case and was left with no other choice but to order the original from sony. I was reluctant to order after reading the negative reviews but I did anyways. lol I was pretty surprised when I received it. It is exactly what I wanted. The case is made for the T1, so everything works really well together, like access to the usb, power button, etc...When it snaps on, it's secure, no rattling. The plastic does not feel cheap, the case actually makes my reader look more expensive,imo. I also ordered & received the Sony case with light and I am completely satisfied with that too. To be fair, I have not seen or held any other cases made by other companies. At the time, I couldn't find any that was specifically made for the T1. Anyways, for the price of this reader + case($160)it is pretty nice to have something that works perfect together.

I did not rate it 5 stars only because it does not provide any storage for stylus. But overall it is a good product for its price.

The original Sony covers are the thinnest available. They don't have the extra padding almost all of the other covers do. Sony manages to do this without compromising the protective nature of the cover. My T1 with this cover takes up much less space in my luggage and I don't have to worry about baggage handlers accidentally breaking the screen. I can easily fit my reader with cover in a back pocket.For me, the extra price is worth the small footprint.

Bought the cover for my sony reader from amazon. The cover has a rich look and fits in the plastic casing like hand in glove. Very impressed. Would have been great if there was a space to store the stylus. The delivery was very prompt. Very well packed. As I had been researching for the best price for sometime, I must say that it was the best price in the market. I am a happy customer

Picked up the Reader Wifi as part of Sony's $99 pre-Christmas sale and the case along with it. Have already returned the case, mainly because, in addition to the ridiculous price point, it is cheap, poorly designed and impractical. Contrary to what one other reviewer stated, there is no place to store the stylus. True, you can slip the clip side of the stylus into the spine of the case; but then all you have is an accident waiting to happen: if you catch the stylus on anything--even a piece of clothing--either the stylus is going to break or the spine is going to rip. Also, once the case is on there is no access to the SD card.The second glaring drawback is the $35 price. Sony, obviously, is trying to make up for its market-pressured price reduction by charging the proverbial arm and a leg for its accessories. But charging $35 for an item that probably costs $1 to produce in China and $2 to market at the wholesale level simply makes Sony look cheap and tawdry--almost and cheap and tawdry as itsReader WiFi cover.

The eReader kind of snaps down into a plastic frame and don't even know it's there. It holds it securely and leaves clear access to everything. A great product.

Por un precio nimio, la misma calidad (son clavadas) que Sony ofrece por su funda original a un precio absolutamente desorbitado. Volveré a comprarla. No hay diferencia alguna con la original (he tenido ambas)
