Behringer Eurolive B205D Active 150-Watt PA/Monitor Speaker System

I've recently started taking voice/stage lessons and I wanted to have a basic PA setup for practicing at home. Having your guitar and voice amplified allows you to practice in a way that is more like what you experience on stage! So I began researching what are sometimes referred to as "Personal PAs". I wanted something small, compact and simple to set up. And I wanted decent sound with some respectable volume. After rejecting more expensive solutions and also those that contained multiple components (amp, speakers, etc.) I decided to purchase the Behringer B205D. I love this PA!! 5 stars all the way! If your needs are like mine you will love this unit. I won't list all the features as they are described on this page and the other reviews provide lots of this discussion as well. But I will say I have successfully performed in class using a mic and my guitar plugged in. The sound was clean and nice and loud! The unit is super easy to carry around and set up in case you want to do more than practice at home. Next week I will be using this at an open mic at a local pub. Also worth noting is the seller I dealt with was simply outstanding! They are US Sound & Light (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?ie=UTF8&isAmazonFulfilled=0&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&isCBA=&seller=A2I3KI79ZQR6C). I had problems with my first unit and they exchanged it for me and even reimbursed me for the return shipping when Amazon would not! This is a very high-quality company to do business with and I highly recommend purchasing from them whenever possible!! Just a few more things worth mentioning. First, as I researched this online it appears Behringer has a bit of a reputation for producing "knock-offs" of other products. In this case, it certainly appears this unit is very similar to the Mackie SRM150 (which is more than $100 more expensive). I have no idea if the overall quality of these two units is comparable but interesting to know this anyway. Second, my initial unit was defective. It could only handle the volume being turned up to about 35% before the amp starting "cutting out". I sent it back and got another one from the seller. The second unit was better but it had some annoying vibrations/buzzing when you would hit certain notes. In this case however, I was able to fix it myself by partially disassembling the unit, adding a paper gasket and tightening several loose screws. It was easy to do and now I'm confident if any vibrations recur I can fix them myself. This experience of "two-in-a-row" with problems makes it a little harder for me to recommend this without reservations, however, I am so happy with the unit now that I could not honestly give it less than 5 stars! Finally, as I am getting used to this unit I am already seeing some possible limitations. This is not the product's fault but something you may wish to consider as you decide if this unit is for you. I am thinking 2 inputs is not enough. As long as its just you and your guitar (or uke or banjo or whatever) this unit works great. But as soon as you want to do a duet you'll need something more because you only have the two inputs. I'd love to see this unit in a version offering four inputs with two of them set up to handle either guitar or mic. And I'd love to have EQ for each individual input rather than for the mixed signal. Yeah, I know I'm talking about a more advanced unit but you should consider these factors when you make your decision. All in all, I am very happy with this PA!

I do presentations a lot and other times need a mini combo to hook an instrument and just enjoy, I did a little bit of research online but found two products that could meet this need, one was the fender and the other was this behringer eurolive B205D, I decided to go for this because it was about half the cost and I felt it's also a good brand. I must state categorically that this was the best sub $200 I spent in 2010. My God, this stuff blows me sky high, men it has the juciest, cleanest, punchiest power of any mini combo that I have even seen. It compares even to my Boss Speakers in output quality. I used it with a wireless microphone for presentations and the audio quality is the best I have ever heard my self. I hooked it up with my iPod and it's like i had a gig ready to go, I even hooked it up also with my musical instrument and the sound was even better. The sound also is so loaded with sweetness at times I wonder how such high decibels can be bursting forth from such a small device. The housing also is so good it looks like what will bounce around with no fear of damage for many years to come. Also the item just weighs at a basic 3.2kilos, you can even carry it with you anywhere and no one will even know you are carrying anything of such. The other reviewer said something about distorts when the volume exceeds the middle, I think he needs to check his hardware properly because this stuff does not distort the sounds in anyway that I have seen even though I do not raise the volume knob too high because the sound may become unbearably loud as neighbors may begin to complain. Everyone who has seen it in action all want to buy it off me right away or want to order theirs immediately. It will be also a fun tool for the kids and family in general without the fear of the youger ones spoiling it or swallowing any small parts. It's perfect for what you may want it for. You can buy as many as you like and link them up with a pair of xlr cables, as a link port is provided at the rear. I tell you, if you are not sure if you really want to buy this I tell you just do it, it will be the best investment you'll done in a while. I just love the product and I give behringer 10 stars of an excellently conceived product.

Ich möchte hier über meine Erfahrungen mit dem Behringer B205D Eurolive Monitor berichten. Vorweg aber mal ein paar allgemeine Worte zur Firma Behringer. Die Fa. Behringer hat immer noch einen zweifelhaften Ruf als "Billigheimer". Zu Unrecht, wie ich meine, denn Behringer stellt solides Musik Equipment zu unschlagbaren Preisen her. Klar, das sind keine HighEnd Geräte für den absoluten Profibereich, aber im Amateur und Semiprofessionellen Bereich (und das wird ja der Großteil sein) ist man damit gut aufgestellt. Nun aber zur eigentlichen Bewertung des Behringer B205D Eurolive Monitor. Ich verzichte auf ausführliche technischen Details (diese sind ja nachlesbar), sondern ich berichte einfach mal, wie sich die Kiste so in der Praxis macht. Kurz angerissen aber trotzdem mal die wichtigsten Features. Es handelt sich um eine kleine Aktivbox mit einem 5,25 Zoll Neodymtreiber und einer Endstufe von 150 Watt. Der Mixer besitzt 2 Micro/Line Eingänge mit Phantomspeisung und einen Stereo Cinch Eingang. Der Klang ist mit einem 3-fach EQ beeinflussbar. Kleiner als mein Toaster und gerade mal gut 3 kg leicht macht diese kleine Kiste in vielen Anwendungsbereichen einfach nur Freude und kommt der "Eierlegendenwollmilchsau" ziemlich nahe. Hier ein paar Beispiele aus der Praxis. Beispiel 1 "Unplugged“ Auftritt mit meiner kleinen Blasmusikbesetzung zum Geburtstagsständchen im Dorfgemeinschaftshaus oder in der Gaststätte. Für die Begrüßung der Gäste und Zwischenmoderationen Micro reinstecken und ggf. noch an der 3-fachen EQ schrauben – fertig! Damit kann man locker 50 -70 Leute mit Sprache beschallen. Beispiel 2 Auftritt mit PA mit meiner Blasmusikbesetzung. Da nutze ich den B205D als Monitor. Auf ein altes Microstativ geschraubt setzt er sich auch in einer lauten Bühnenumgebung durch. Wir sind sicher keine Rockband, aber Blasmusik kann auch sehr laut sein ;-) Perfekter Monitorsound ohne Schlepperei. Beispiel 3 Das Geburtstagsjubiläum eines Familienmitglieds, Gäste überwiegend zw. 50-80. Aufgabe: Eher dezente Musikbeschallung (ohne dass man die Technik sieht) für 30-40 Personen im Dorfgemeinschaftshaus in moderater Lautstärke. Ab und zu gilt es einen Vortrag oder eine Rede zu verstärken. Ohne Probleme möglich. Beispiel 4 Musikbeschallung auf einer Grillparty. Gerne auch mal etwas lauter. Sauberer und für die Größe des Lautsprechers druckvoller Sound in mittlerer Lautstärke. Beispiel 5 Musikbeschallung auf einer kleinen (Steh)Party mit 20-30 Personen in einem kleinen Raum. Klar, voll ausgedreht kommt das Teil dann schon irgendwann an die (physikalischen) Grenzen. Aber das ist dann schon ne Lautstärke, wo die Nachbarn auch was davon haben ;-) Da heißt es dann bei sehr basslastigen Titeln ein bisschen am EQ zu drehen und die Bässe zurückzunehmen. Und wenn das Teil nicht von mir benutzt wird, nehmen es meine Kids in Beschlag. MP3 Playback über die Cinchbuchsen einspielen, Micro rein und die Gesangskünste ausloten bzw. für „The Voice Kids“ üben ;-) Das Ding ist überall ideal einsetzbar, wo eine große PA nicht notwendig, nicht erwünscht oder einfach Fehl am Platz ist. Von der unauffälligen Hintergrundbeschallung über Sprachübertragung bis zur Musikbox für die kleine Party ist dieses Teil unwahrscheinlich vielfältig einsetzbar. Der einzige ganz leise Kritikpunkt ist, dass man trotz aller Kompaktheit immer eine Steckdose braucht. Lieber Fa. Behringer, wenn ihr jetzt noch einen Akku einbauen würdet, mit welchem man auch mal losgelöst von der nächsten Steckdose 2-3 Stunden abrocken könnte, wäre es absolut perfekt. Dafür würde ich gerne auch etwas mehr Geld bezahlen. Trotz allem aber ein tolles Konzept zu einem unschlagbaren Preis/Leistungsverhältnis, deshalb volle 5 Sterne Fazit: Behringer B205D Eurolive Monitor - günstig, klein, leicht, laut und gut klingend. Die perfekte Mini PA für kleine Anlässe.
