I purchased this item for a camping trip last weekend. After reading the reviews and with limited options available I was a little nervous of the product which we needed to attach a mid size awning to our Fiat Ducanto van. I just wanted to write this review as I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability. The attachment set (figure of 8) and magnetic strip held up all weekend without any issues, it was windy at times but using the 4 guylines made the attachment sturdy and effective, the van has solar panels with limited space on the roof but this was not a issue. The pegs included were very strong and made to last which was a great addition. I could have been put off from buying based on several negative reviews but happy I took the risk and made the purchase.The picture was taken on a breezy morning whilst we were packing away the awning.

I read all the negative reviews and chose to make my own mind up and ordered one. Don't make my mistake of thinking it cannot be that bad. IT IS!It starts sliding off the van without th awning even attached!It's a great concept but the magnets are just not strong enough.

Brilliant little porch for my camper van

I Attached this olpro Magnetic Drive Away Kit to my olpro drive away tent, then to my van then the wind started to blow up, that's when the trouble started the magnets keep coming away from the van even when it was tied down, the magnets were not strong enough to hold it to the van. Returned for a refund. It cost €21 to return it, and Amazon only covered return for €10. So lost out with this.

Works well but the rail isn't a particularly snug fit so I would recommend some rail stoppers to stop it sliding around. The magnet is nice and strong as long as it's properly flat to the roof.

Stuck to top of my van no bother and held the awning in place . Great idea would recommend ,

Why did you choose this product over others?:Magnets don't hold onto the van in even the slightest wind - used the guy ropes supplied to hold it in place this weekend - not what I hoped for and wont be using it again' Purchased because i didn't want to drill holes in my van to fit a permeant rail - this experience has caused me to rethink that scenario
