I have ran Flowmasters on my vehicles for decades . Always been happy with the product and pricing points . This muffler went on a 2018 Ram 2500 5.7 liter Hemi . Truck had custom duals installed 7 years ago . Wanted to go back to a single exit exhaust set up . Ran back like stock with a 5 inch tip installed . Sound is deep and rumbles like a traditional Flowmaster does . Coming from a 44 series this one is not as loud , say a click or two on the quieter side , but trust me you will still hear the traditional Flowmaster rumble . Overall as expected with Flowmaster Im sure it will be on the truck for many years to come .

First off the shipping on this flowmaster was 2 days with free shipping. I was very impressed how fast I received it. As soon as it arrived I brought The Silverado (Silvia) in to get it installed. I called around and the cheapest I could find was 75 dollars. They do need to cut and add some extra pipe for the flowmaster to fit. Took them about 20 minutes and they fired up Silvia. Silvia sounded like the gates of hell opened up and she came out the door. He pulled up and said would you like the honors of the first rev? Damn right I did!! Silvia was perfect. The sound when first started is amazing really brings out the V8 power. At idle Silvia has a low purr. When you drive off you DO hear it in the cab but nothing to over powering. It's not loud enough to wake the neighbors. (Unless you wanted too) I did not want to have Silvia too loud and over power conversations in the cab or the radio. I park and sit in my truck de about 10 minutes before going into work so I didn't want Silvia to be too loud. The sound is perfect for what I was looking for. Between 20 and 30 MPH while driving regular (no bashing the gas) it does over power the cab a bit but once you get to the 45, 55 all up to 70 you have to bash the pedal a bit to make it loud. I'm my eyes, good price, perfect sound.

When the muffler arrived I was surprised at the quality of construction. This is no flimsy lightweight muffler. It is a beast. I had my local exhaust shop weld it on and threw a single side exit in front of the rear passenger wheel. It sounds amazing. Like the other reviews, it is not obnoxious, sounds deep and smooth. It will kick into v4 mode and drone just a bit but that’s easily resolved by smashing the pedal and unleashing that rich beautiful V8 sound!!!! Buy it if you want to sound like you own a V8! UPDATE* Bought the AFM disabler and it took the drone away. Now it rides in V8 mode and I get the full potential of this muffler. The disabler is a must have in my opinion.

FlowMaster mufflers are the one and only, no other muscle car muffler comes close IMHO, so my review is not really about Flowmaster series 40 mufflers but more about the new "Super" 40 series. The Series 40 muffler is Flowmaster's most aggressive sounding muffler, the "super" version was developed to reduce that annoying "resonance" sound that can occur inside the vehicle when cruising. The Super version does help with reducing resonance however under load like when pulling a trailer or driving up grade the sound is still there and can be very annoying. If rating the muffler solely on elimination of resonance I would give it a, 7 out of 10. If rating the muffler on helping with resonance while retaining that classic Flowmaster sound I'd give it a 9. It's well worth the added cost over the standard series 40 muffler but I think Flowmaster can do a better job reducing resonance. Hope this helps. Muscle on!

I bought this for my 2004 Silverado 5.3 V-8. I was just putting on the new muffler and not changing the exhaust. The muffler was a 3" in and 3" out. The exhaust on my truck was 2 3/4". After $50 in added parts I was able to attach the muffler to my truck. it sounds awesome now. It really growls when hitting the gas. What is really nice is that it does pop or crackle. There is some resonance inside the truck, but its not overly annoying. It is a great product, just make sure you measure before you buy it, so you will be aware of the added cost of buying more parts in case it doesn't fit.

Did allot of research purchased for my 2001 Chevy 5.3 Tahoe and not a penny wasted. I do notice a 1 mpg improvement with the bonus of of a little bit more horse power. Moderate sound and happy with my choice with the super 40 delta flow. Recommend it to those wanting to add a a little flavor to their ride. Not annoying at all and one can hold conversations within the cab and also doesn't wake up the neighbors at night. You can't beat the delta flow technology that makes this muffler a moderate sound come to life without any annoying resonance within the cab full of family members (yes this is my daily driver) I also recommend to purchase the K & N air filter in place of the cheap restricted card board filters. K & N air filter cost me 37 $ here at amazon cheapest I have found brand new. Overall very happy with this super 40 flow master the whole family enjoys the ride and also the sound that this puppy purrs out. The K & N air filter added more responsiveness to pass vehicles on command and the super 40 muffler made the perfect combination for more horse power and cruising more efficiently. I now have to pay attention to my speedometer because before I know it with these added features I am easily doing 80 on up without really noticing it.

Perfect sound for 01' Tahoe 5.3l. Not very loud at idle but when you get on it you can deffinatly tell its there! Only drone ib the cab is at 1850-2000rpm and it's not bad at all. I chose this because it's the wife's daily driver with the kids and I didn't want something too aggressive that it bugged her. She loves it and it's a perfect match for a daily driven family car looking for a nice sounding muffler. Although my Tahoe did have Single in and Dual out so the shop had to cut the Dual out pipe off to a single pipe so I could use this muffler. Not a big deal that's the work they do. This muffler was cheaper online than anywhere local I could find as well. Great buy and I would buy again in the futur for my other vehicles!

Ideal para la chevrolet 5.7 9 cilindros. El sonido es bastante agresivo y al interior igual. Si te gusta un sonido fuerte ests es opción. Sueña más grave que el 40 series.

Ordered this muffler, it arrived in 2 days. Super fast delivery. Install took 1 hour, sounds great. Low rumble and no drone. Very happy, recommend if you want that deep sound but not too crazy. I have a Ram 1500 4.7 V8

Put this on my 2015 silverado and sounds awesome, loud when you want it to be and quiet when on highway or pulling a load. Awesome bang for buck!

Arrived early, had it professionally installed and it’s great so far. Good sound and deep resonance but very little noise in the cab at cruising rpms. Would definitely recommend!
