T.W Evans Cordage 26-003 1/2-Inch X 50-Feet 5-Star Manila Rope

I do Civil War re-enacting and need period correct rope for various purposes. Para cord and nylon are not acceptable. I use this rope for handles on wooden boxes, tent and fly guy lines and other uses around camp. Good cordage. It holds up well. I do extend the life of the rope by whipping off the ends to prevent untwisting and I also add a little mineral oil to the rope handles to extend their life and to soften the fibers to make the handles more comfortable.

Good price for nice sturdy rope. It arrived on time and in good shape. We have used it many different applications for theatre. Looks great onstage for props and works well for actual tying and binding. It does unravel at the ends, so we used gaff tape to keep it together when that was an issue.

I use this rope as a clothes line for large or heavy items. I love that it's made of natural material that's been used for centuries. Wonderful texture, doesn't snag my laundry, feels good to touch. Stretched more than I expected initially, but seems to be holding up well now. Took quite a while to ship.

Good rope! Exactly as described. It's very strong. I'm using it to hang a wooden porch swing.

Bought this to use on our lake cabin porch. So far has held up to weather very well. All the neighbors love it.Update- 4 yrs later and rope has held up very well just discolored. That was to be expected. Going to replace this year and spray with waterproof. We have been extremely pleased!

Exactly what I needed I would say it seemed thicker than 1/2" it has three strands which I pulled apart for one project and it looks awesome. Tip the ends frey easily dip them in hot wax and keep the little string its packaged with to tie up the ends when you cut the rope. Some people mentioned a smell with other rope, this smells natural and looks amazing!

Would have given it a 5 star if it hadn't snapped. I'll keep looking for a good, sturdy rope until one doesnt snap. You'll know it worked if I dont give an updated review. Wish me luck!

Chose this over another brand because I wanted to avoid the oily type of smell. This only has a slight smell to it and I doubt it can be avoided in they kind of rope.Good for learning how to make bumpers. A little stiffer than I expected but I have nothing to compare it to since I am new to this.
