YAMAHACGS102 Classical Acoustic 1/2 Guitar with Natural Finish

This guitar is beautiful! I bought it for my son, on the advice of my musician friend. It came well packed (I was nervous). It is a perfect 1/2 size guitar and suits my 9 year old well. Adults can play this guitar as well.

Ok for the money, but not a great instrument. Nice size for a 7 year old's first guitar.

CONFESSION: I'm an adult and I got this guitar for myself. I play fiddle and mandolin and started noodling around with ukulele over the holidays. It was great fun, but a soprano uke is kind of small so I started thinking about getting a tenor one. Wanting to stay with the idea of a small instrument on which to play chords with relative ease (some chords are really challenging on the mandolin), I thought, Why not get a small guitar and have 6 strings to play with?This instrument is well-made and has a surprisingly nice sound for it's size. Even though it's considered a student instrument. it seems that Yamaha kept with the same level of craftsmanship evident on full-size guitars in the same price range.Who knows, maybe one day I'll advance to a "parlor size" guitar, but I like having a small one - also, easy to stash and travel with.Special note: be advised that it's hard to find a gig bag to fit this exactly - be sure to get precise measurements or just opt for a 3/4 sized bag.

This guitar is made well, is a great size for kids, and is reasonably priced. Although the quality of the sound is not very good, this is a perfect started guitar for young and/or small hands.

Don't know what the low reviews are about this thing is awesome!!! Bought it for my son and he wails away on it, no issues. We leave it out in the living room and I play around on it as well and you can definitely get this thing to sing!!! The finish was great and just put a nice set of strings on after more than a year of abuse and it is as good as new. I wouldnt hesitate to play this around a camp fire and it's also a great tool if your learning to finger pick. Just sit back on the couch and pluck away with minimal interruption to others. Love this thing..

I'm a music teacher and bought the guitar because I needed something small to drag around New York City.This Yamaha has a beautiful sound and it's easy to carry around. Perfect for my music lessons.

The guitar arrived on time and in good shape.It works well.Have not complaints.Will recommend to others.
