Effective tool - superior to spout-based separators
The media could not be loaded. The bottom-release separator is superior to spout-based separators, mainly because of the difficulty of cleaning the interior of glass spouts, even with a bottle brush. This separator also holds a larger volume of drippings than the ~2 cup glass separator I already owned. I was intially concerned about whether hot drippings would leak everywhere in the kitchen, but the silicon stopper does a fine job of stopping the release of drippings and fat from a roast. I agree with the manufacturer that it is critical to be gentle in cleaning the stopper, because I can definitely see that abrading or scratching it could lead to leaking. I ordered this separator specifically for managing drippings from a Thanksgiving turkey roast, and the separator operated as intended. I endorse this product, and will probably gift it to friends and family. If I weren't an Alton Brown fan, I'd recommend it more broadly, but it does seem to be a unitasker (unless you also use it as a pancake batter dispenser. I haven't tried this, but Kitchen Geeks noted it in their instructions, and if the batter is lump-free, then it might be a good tool for that, too)

Quality product.
This is a great product. I purchased it to strain the pan drippings for some brisket. I love the large lid with the mesh that helped keep solids out of the strainer and made for easy disposal. The bottom spout works great and allowed me to get the pan drippings out without the fat. I was easily able to scoop the fat out and throw it in the trash. The one downside is that it is a bit of a chore to clean becuase of the arm inside the strainer that controls the spout at the bottom. I found it best to soak with dishsoap for about 15 minutes in hot water, but I needed a small toothbrush to clean around that arm.Regardless it works as intended and I would buy again.

Works just great
I needed a fat separator and this works great. I love the bottom hole used for separating. Has a wide top so you don't have to worry about spilling anything outside the tool. Very easy to use.

Very well made and works like a charm!
Excellent product! I use it often and just take it apart (3 pieces) and put it in the dishwasher upper rack. It is so easy to use! It's well made, thick bowl. Stands easily when I'm making gravy and adding a bit at a time. The strainer on top is large enough to work well and it's easy to dump as needed. It's so much better than the glass one I had!

Works great
This is so easy to use. I was afraid it would leak from the bottom when I sat it down after filling - but it did not. I watched the fat form on the top, and picked it up. Put it over my jar, and pressed the lever. The good broth came out and filled my jar. I could refill and follow same process several times until my entire bone broth was in jars. The top caught any stray chunks of veggies I missed during first strain, but allowed tiny pieces into broth. To get rid of tiny pieces would require straining through 200 micron bag first. A bit messy but possible. LOVE the separator!

Don't bother.
We've had this for about two years now, used it two, maybe three, times. Otherwise it's been stored in the cabinet. Pulled it out today, and the valve handle (the red piece) is broken, thus it no longer works Ridiculous, really.I have no idea if the valve handle is replaceable, probably not. Don't bother, look for a better product.

Works as advertised
This actually worked with the simple press of a manual button. It is, of course, a bit difficult to clean because it's basically all plastic, and grease clings to plastic. A double washing, rinsing out the sponge in between and adding more dish detergent does nicely. If you make a lot of soup and gravy, it's perfect for separating the fat without having to wait hours for it to separate in the refrigerator.
