Bob Reeves Flugelhorn (Lg. Morse) to Trumpet Adapter

Put your flugelhorn mouthpiece in this adapter, place it in your trumpet, and voila, a reasonable flugelhorn substitute. Behind the bell, it really does make your trumpet sound (and somewhat respond) like a flugelhorn. In front of the bell, with a friend playing, it still does sound like a trumpet, but darkens the tone quite a bit. I can see leaving my flugelhorn at home and using this adapter with my trumpet and flugelhorn mouthpiece in many situations where I would normally use a flugelhorn. If you don't know what large Morse taper means, do some research on your flugelhorn mouthpiece before you buy. This will accept most production flugelhorn mouthpieces (I use a Yamaha), but probably will not work with Couesnon, Courtois, and Bach flugelhorn mouthpieces. However, I believe there is a small Morse taper version of this adapter that would work with those mouthpieces.By the way, Mouthpiece Express is great. Both this adapter and a previous mouthpiece that I bought from them were shipped very quickly in safe packaging.

I bought 2 of these and when I tried them out as described in the Headline the sound of my trumpets were slightly more darker and mellower but also very functional sometimes a little change from the regular routine is good and for me I like a little variety in my instruments and they will also work in your regular flugelhorn if you want a little extra length this is a very versatile accessory I highly recommend and therefore I Give it 5 stars
