Pyramid Game of Thrones Map Wall Poster

I bought this as a christmas present to myself seeing as I wouldn't be recieving my presents from other people until late March. It ship faster than exspected, carefully wraped and handled with care. Right of the box I was satisfied with the amount of detail and visually incapulation of the map as a whole. The only downside is that after ordering this poster I realized it wasn't the full map, however after much thought I decided I'd order the full map and keep this one just in case.

I could not wait to receive this after placing the order. The quality of the colors and illustration is excellent. My expectations were far exceeded especially for the price. The poster was on sale for less than $3 and had free shipping. I have looked at "Game of Thrones" posters in stores that cost much more. I am glad I bought it through Amazon. I am thrilled with this poster. It is the perfect addition to my office at work.

It lacks some of the detail one might like to see in locating all the places, but it looks great on the wall.A more detailed (and more expensive) map is coming out late this year that will be more of a desk reference for those who love these books and the tv series.The books are well worth reading by the way, and the tv series, although well done, leaves quite a bit out.

I am a 65-year old grandmother but I just had to have this because I'm such a huge GOT fan. All the different houses and areas mentioned in the show and the books were getting confusing. This not only looks good on my home office wall but it's a reference tool that I find myself using quite often.

The poster is printed on heavy paper with a clear plastic coating. In several places the paper was detached from the coating. The quality of the text used for place names is very poor - out of focus enlargement and difficult to read. Some of the place names have a white background - presumably to make them easier to read, but it mostly succeeds in making the map look ugly. Several place names are missing - notably Duskendale which features prominently in the story but there are dozens of other place names on the maps in the books that are left off this poster, Also topographical features are missing. Disappointing.

I have some real problems with the graphic art choices here. The pale blue text on the charcoal oceans is almost illegible unless you're up very close, making that whole color scheme a somewhat dubious choice. If the aim is to cast all of Westuros in an aged, browned / sepia look I could at least acknowledge that point of view, but when you type the NAMES OF THE BIG CITIES on some piece of white paper and cut and paste that onto the map like you would a high-school art project, I really had to smirk. If you compare how the bottoms of the letter "g" are cut off in the King's Landing title, but how the"y" in the Eyrie is not cut off that high, you realize you are dealing with not only poor quality from a technical point of view, but an abysmal lack of respect for the artistic nature of the creation as well. The typeface used to denote "King's Landing," for example, is more fitting for a modern-day typewriter than for any creative salute to the project at hand.If memory serves, this was priced at $1 but almost $9 in S&H charges were added. Crafty marketers...I will keep on in search of more maps and calendars, and give much thought to whom I can pass this one along to.

I am both a Game of Thrones and a map buff and I was expecting the image on this poster to be a little more detailed and colorful, but it's really pretty bland. The paper and the print quality is good. I got this with the intention of putting it up on my wall, but it so far has just been sitting rolled up in my closet.

Perfect. Exactly what I needed and wanted. Love it. I also got the wider one though as it has more of the Easterly regions on it, but this one is essential to get all the detailed locations and information on the exact locations of all the action in Westeros.
