Outstanding Knife and a Terrific Bargain
We originally had just one of these knives--and it was the most used cooking knife in our kitchen. It holds an edge superbly, is well designed, cleans easily. And then...we somehow managed to lose the knife (while retaining the case/scabbard). Its' absence drove home how much my wife and I appreciated this knife. So I bought this set. Still excellent quality and a great price, good workmanship and very reliable. But the different colors are an unanticipated positive. In the kitchen if you're using one knife to trim veggies and a second one to remove some fat from meat or cut dice something like garlic that you don't want to come in contact with something else in the meal (like the butter you've sliced in to tabs or the cheese you've cut in to small cubes), the different colors help you avoid confusion and tool mixture. I strongly recommend this set.

Very sharp, tight-fitting sheath, compact blade, easy to use
My wife takes apples to work every day and has been taking a steak knife wrapped in a paper towel to cut them with, but some days she forgets the knife. I knew there had to be a better way, so I turned to Amazon and found these Kuhn Rikon knives. I like that they are on the smaller size, perfect for precise cutting. I also like that there are three and they're different colors because she can keep the red one in her lunchbox at all times as a backup in case she forgets to bring another. Then, she knows the yellow or blue one is the one to use or is the dirty one. The sheaths are very tight so no more worrying about her getting stabbed while digging in her purse-sized lunchbox. The knives are very sharp and easy to cut with. The sheaths might be difficult to clean because they're so narrow, but she rinses off the blade when she's done with it and it's not an issue. Overall, we are both happy with the purchase of these knives and didn't find any flaws with them. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a set of paring knives. 5/5 stars If you found this review helpful, please show some love by clicking the Smiley Face button below. These knives really are great for the following reason
These knives really are great for the following reason. They are extremely sharp and well made, and can be maintained normally through a sharpening process, but you don't have to treat them with kit gloves like high-end knife sets. You can throw them in the dish washer or leave them out on occasion without too much guilt because in a year or two, you can throw them out and buy new ones once they outlive their usefulness because of their low cost point. That is a small price to pay to a more expensive knife you have to dutifully hand wash after every use. I know it sound's like a lazy man's philosophy, and perhaps it is, but these are quality knives that should last you a year or two (or much longer if you really take care of them, and of course, depending on how often you use them) but can be treated like any other utensils guilt free. That, I think, is their primary selling point. This review not only applies to these particular knives, but all knives of similar construction within the Kuhn-Rikon line.

Super sharp and durable
We had one of these knives the we kept in our RV. It’s lasted in perfect condition and has taken all manners of abuse for 2 years. We decided to get one or two more (then a I saw a set of 4 and more is better, right?) We will use them as our steak knives, prep knives, all around all purpose knives, in the RV. The covers make them so easy to travel with.

Good and stay sharp!
I have used this brand of knives for quite a few years and are always the go to knife. I have used quite a few brands over the years and the most expensive knives are not necessarily the best. These stay sharp the longest and are the easiest to sharpen.

THE GOOD: - Low cost (and you save more when you buy three) - Great blade steel: easy to sharpen, holds an edge. I have actually sharpened mine to the 14 degrees used on my Wusthof's and they are great. Nothing wrong with the edge they come with though. - Very easy to wash - Coating is durable and fun. - They come with their own sheaths - Kuhn Rikon is a quality brand THE BAD: - One of mine had a little bit of a sloppy seam on the handle. You couldn't really see it, but it was scratchy while cutting. I actually used another one of the knives to cut the seam off, and it is OK now, but still a quality issue. - The handles are fairly primitive and they are smooth and get slick when wet. THE CONCLUSION: These are great knives because they work both as knives put out on a cheese plate and as a workhorse in your kitchen. My girlfriend is kind of rough on knives and I like having a quality knife that I don't cry over when she scrapes a cutting board or bends the tip.

stop worry about sharp knives, espcially when you stray from the kitchen!
if you eat in the bedroom, you better use this type of knife, with a safety cover!

Great little knives
We are constantly running out of these little knives because we use them constantly. I like the fact that there are covers because we take them on road trips and pack well. They are lightweight and the colors are attractive. Good quality, we’ve had most of them for years. We have to buy more because they seem to disappear!

I’ve been using Kuhn Rikon knives for the last 5 years and before that, spent a good fortune on other high brand named knives. No difference between these besides the price. Knives are super sharp, comfortable to hold and aesthetically the colours are fun. Plus, it’s made in Switzerland and therefore well made.

These knives do their job well.

These are the best cheap knives. They re-sharpen really well too when they get old. The included sheathes make them easy to bring in a lunch bag.

I love these sharp little knives. Not heavy duty by any means but great for the price. Sharp and lightweight. Perfect for moderate use cutting citrus and so on. I tossed one in my bar kit and the rest for home use.
