Very good grinder, some quibbles, though
This is a good, solid, workhorse of a grinder. For most household use there is little more you could ask for. It is well constructed and does a very good job grinding even partially frozen meat. It is lightyears better than the Kitchen Aid attachment I used prior to getting it. I've used this model for 2 1/2 years and am now looking to step up to a higher volume grinder and my experience with it has helped me understand better what I want out of my next machine.I do have some minor quibbles, none of them deal breakers, but enough to take it down one star.- The cheap, hollow plastic plunger. It's cheap. And hollow. And plastic. It's also too fat and oddly shaped to fit comfortably in my hand (which is by no means small).- The fit. Certain types of sausages are very sensitive to temperature, so I sometimes freeze the blade, die, gear and housing before use to minimize the transfer of heat to the forcemeat. When cold, the ring on the end doesn't like to thread easily and is hard to tighten. If not properly threaded or not tightened well enough, the blades and die do not work correctly resulting in mangled meat that grinds very slowly. Disassembling to fix it after the grind is started is messy.- Noise level. It's a little loud. Not crazy-loud, but in my apartment controlling noise to avoid pissing off the neighbors is always an issue. No one has whined about it yet, so I guess my 2 A.M. grinds have gone unnoticed. :)- "Bite size" could be bigger. It's no worse than cheaper units I have used, but the size of the pieces of meat has to be controlled well, as the grinder bogs down a bit if the meat chunk size gets too big.

Great way to cook for my diet plan!
Pretty happy with the way the Waring works, I had ordered the Rival grinder for about 68 dollars before this one, and had to return it because of how discolored the cutting plate turned (it looked like a streak of oil in a puddle of water) and rust was developing, even though I dried it everytime. In the Waring pro, all the moving parts are made of stainless steel, and quite dense too. There is a plastic ring in the metal tube that connects to the motor, I guess plastic is the ideal material for that particular spot. (it looks like a washer) I don't really know what it does though. For my diet, I have to eat 3-4 oz of chicken breasts 4 times a day, I used to get so tired of eating flavorless chicken. Now I just ground up all the chicken breasts and make a delicious, healthy and hearty chili. The flavors get into every bit of the ground chicken. The texture and looseness of the ground chicken is just easier for me to swallow the food and stick to my diet.No problems with clogging yet even though I ran some pork butt and pork belly (which is like 50% fat) through it to make sausages for my friend, I do put the blade and plate and other metal parts beside the hopper into the freezer for about 20 mins before I use it, and partially freeze the meats too, as many tips have suggested.I am taking 1 star off because my food pusher arrived broken in two pieces, but thank goodness it wasn't too important of a part of the machine so I just kept it.

Does the job but its louder than my vacuum
Pros: Simple, straight forward on/off switch. Only a few parts to disassemble and clean. Grinds quickly.Cons: Very loud motor. Reminds me of my vacuum cleaner when I turn it on.. just freaks out the pets.Seems to handle chicken bone ok. though to get it to fit in the grinder, I have to use my cleaver and chop the bones into half inch chunks. So, it's more time consuming than I'd like. Some bone does collect on the inside of the grinder. Fat also tends to collect on one side of the grinder, so fresh meat only comes out on the right side of the plate. It does get a little warm after about 5 or so minutes of use. I've only ever had the motor on for 5 minutes straight at a time. I use the grinder to feed my cats who are on a raw diet, for my toothless cat specifically. Cats who have teeth should eat whole food...Just make sure to clean all parts thoroughly, and DRY them before you store the parts away, and coat with a light amount of veggie or olive oil, or in my case I use Pam cooking spray. Don't put through dishwasher.

Works great!!
Meat grinder came on time and worked much better than expected. Ground up a 15 pound roast beef in about five minutes, works better it you cut meat into strips then put it in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes prior to grinding.
