Worth the price
I bought this amp as a lighter alternative to my Ampeg PF500 w/ 115HE. Altogether, that amp is around 65 lbs, and this is is less than half that.First things first -- no, this amp does not have the lows that the Ampeg rig does. But even at 50 Wats, this little thing kicks up some serious volume. I used it Friday night at a gig in Washington DC. The typical small venue with an irregular shape can be hard to fill, but the PiX CR50BXT did the job and I never had it higher than half way. There may be venues that would be too big for it, but I think if its possible to mic the amp or use a direct box this little guy will do fine. What really excites me is the tone. I'm using a Fender Jazz with Chromes, and the Orange just kills for that midrangey old school sound. I think it might be something of a one trick pony, as I haven't found a setting I like quite so well with my Precision. But I didn't spend a lot of time trying, either, because the Jazz was pure heaven.I did a quick run through of recording with it to see how that would go. It sounded very good. I won't use it this way as I prefer to go in direct to the computer and use software to get my sound, but I think it's a viable option.Overall, I found this amp to be a very good value at this price. I was expecting it to be pretty good due to the reviews I read, but I have to say it exceeded my expectations. I can't imagine ever lugging the Ampeg rig now so long as I've got the Orange. If it was lost or stolen, I'd replace it in a heartbeat.

The BEST bass combo amp I've ever used
If you're looking for something with a bit of power to it but you're NOT willing to invest in a full-on head-and-cabinet rig typically only needed for touring, this is pretty much the middle ground between the best practice amps and the somewhat lower end of gigging amps. It has incredible "boom" to it - I keep my gain on 3 and my volume less than 1 during practice and it still packs serious punch on those low settings with a deep, strong tone. VERY well-suited to high-gain sounds and distortion pedals, but also very good for punchy clean tones. It can certainly go loud enough to compete with drums, so it might suit you for small gigs, though of course your mileage may vary.Additional notes: the orange color stands out and looks cool and the amp itself is surprisingly light - it weighs less than my 35 W pignose combo amp.

Best amp I've tried in this price range.
This is the best combo amp I have tried in this category and price range. It has a nice warm tone, good depth and is very good in the mid-range area, which is the tone I prefer. It also doesn't have that cheap, flat tone that I found in the other amps I tried of this quality level. It is not quite as clean a tone as I would like but I have yet to find an amp that has that in this price range. I don't really use the gain so I can't adivise on that feature. It seems it was just made for the Epiphone Jack Casady bass, which sounds phenomenal through it. And I can get my Rickenbacker to sound like the McCartney/Wings era punchy tone. I'm sure you'll have fun with this amp kids!

Small, powerful, killer Orange Tone
Subject says it all. Slightly bigger than I had expected for a 50 watt, but far more powerful. Haven't played it in a full band setting yet, but this thing will fill a room with that gorgeous warm Orange tone and sounds amazing in DI. The tuner is a great addition and caused me to fling my tiny chromatic tuner across the room. I couldn't recommend this amp any more.Shipped and delivered ahead of schedule - Huge plus! Great turnaround from the seller.

Orange is synonymous with quality.
A great studio or practice amp. I use it in my home studio to record and am very satisfied with its tone and power for such a low wattage. I think it could easily hold its own for small setting live performances as well. Thank you Orange amplifiers.

Great product/arrived "broken"?
Sooo.....the actual amp itself is great, lovely tone for the money, it's quite loud as well as sexually stimulating.Only problem is, I bought it new and in box, but somehow it is....I don't wanna say "broken", but, it most certainly is not in 100% order...or something.I've had it tested by two professionals (music/electronic area), the speaker itself is fine, however there is a quite loud hiss that bleeds through on any volume, as well as a distinct 'crackling' on most played notes. Was tested with multiple instruments, cables, and in different places, through the speaker, lined out, and through headphones, to no avail.So....damn. Great sound otherwise.I'm now seeing that this item is non returnable.... WHAT. OKAY COOL.(no real anger on my end, as I'm sure this isn't anyone in particulars fault..no idea as to what happened though)

Great amp, though I may upgrade the speaker...
I love this amp, but I am a fairly new bass player. My husband tells me the speaker could be a better quality... so we're thinking of putting a Tone Tubby in it. Other than that, I am a happy customer and have gotten lots of compliments on this amp.

1X12 50W
Sounds great, gain control doesn't have the range I'd like to see. Otherwise sounds great, fit and finish is as good as any I've seen. Also makes a good sounding clean., bluesy guitar amp, though this is not the designed use.
