Not at all. The rubber which attaches the handle to the base is very stretchy I even tried it out to ensure it worked and I'm 5ft tall.

My grandchildren are aged from 3 to 9 and all have played on it. For the three year old this is much better than a pogo stick because it is much easier for her to balance

Q: How loud is the squeak? Can it be annoying?

I removed our squeak! Stick your fingers in the hole on the side and pull the little plastic bit (it has one each side!)
