CHH Deluxe Rummy with Wooden Racks in Aluminum Case

I don't understand the complaints about this set. But you know how it goes, some people you can never please. This set is great. The tiles have a great feel, they aren't "cheap" (Its not ivory hello!), I feel they are a good quality. The case is a case - it will last as long as you take care of it. The tile trays are fine - but if you want heavier, sturdier trays, then have them custom built. This is a $30 game, not a $300 game. My wife and I are in our 50's, and can see the colors of the tiles without an issue - unless it is awfully dark in the area you are playing. If that happens, turn on a light. I am a very picky person and I think the value for what you pay is a great value (we paid $26 during Xmas). They have sets on Amazon if you want to step up to a higher level of design for a hundred dollars or more.....but again, this set is absolutely great for the "average to picky ocd" person like myself! And, Amazon has a great return policy if you are that upset about it being out of whack in comparison to the advertisement. Im sure there are pickier people than me (my wife says no to that) and people you can never please - just read the posts on ANYTHING you want to buy.

I bought this set to replace an old boxed version with plastic racks - and I wanted a decent carrying case so that we could take along to the coffee shop, camping, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised upon receiving. The tiles are beautifully made and finished (they do have a feel like porcelain, but I am quite sure they are dense plastic), and the hinged wooden racks are just as nice - well made, well finished, solid wood. This is by far the nicest set I've ever seen, and worth the extra money. The aluminum case is perfect, durable, and nice and compact, with metal corner guards and metal latches (the handle, however is silver plastic). An elastic band inside holds the racks in place. Very pleased to own this set; great seller and super fast delivery.

I LOOKED FOR A LONG TIME TRYING TO FIND A DECENT RUMMYTILE SET. I ORDERED ONE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO THAT COST OVER FIFTY DOLARS AND SENT IT BACK BECAUSE IT WAS FLIMSY AND DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. AFTER RE READING THE REVIEWS I SETTLED ON THE ALUMINUM CASE SET WITH HINGED WOODEN RACKS. IT'S A VERY NICE SET WITH A HEAVY LINED CASE AND TILES THAT AREN'T MADE OF CHEAP PLASTIC. THE STURDY WOODEN RACKS STORE IN THE UPPER COVER OF THE BOX AND ARE HELD IN PLACE WITH AN ELASTIC CLOTH BAND. THE ONLY RECOMMENDATION I WOULD MAKE IS TO MAKE THE BLUE AND BLACK COLORED NUMBERS A LITTLE MORE DISTINCT. BUT IN GOOD LIGHT THE COLORS ARE VERY DISTINGUISHABLE. THIS SET COST 36 DOLLARS AND WORTH EVERY PENNY.

The game is great. The tiles are fine, not as heavy as others have said but the number colors are easy to distinguish from each other. The case is compact and strong although I had to mark which side is the top and which side is the bottom or you will open the bottom and tiles dump out. But the game tile holders just don't work well. The idea is good but I've had to do some involved wood work to get them not to fall over and spill the tiles all the time. And they are just a little too tall and it's hard to remove the tiles from the holder while playing. It would have been easy for the company to make them so they worked well. But love Rummy-cube.

This steps up the game to the next level. I feel bad for the schmucks that use plastic boards now that I have these. I threw the old set out the trailer window and let the goats eat the tiles. These wood ones are that good. Tomorrow night my old lady is coming over to play and she is going to be impressed, might come back back to live with us if it goes well. I just gotta keep my temper and let her come out with breaking existing sets for 30 pts. I miss her that bad I'll let her cheat, just so long as she keeps it to Rummikub this time and quits wandering over to Vernons to cheat with that loser.Good boards. This is a great family game and we looked long and hard to find a set that would last forever. The tiles are 5-star--a nice weight, the numbers are embossed instead of simply printed, and the blue is clearly distinguishable from the black. The case seems fine although we have not demanded much of it thus far. The racks are where this set loses a star. I wasn't expecting a furniture grade finish, so the raw wood didn't bother me. But the racks themselves stand up using a hinge mechanism that is prone to collapse. Definitely not the set for young-ish children or even exuberant adults. And make sure your playing table is rock solid because one good jolt splatters everyone's pieces to the table.

The set was well maid. I have not played with it yet but the wooden racks are better than expected and the numbers on the tikes are bigger than expected which was good. The only drawback would be the cardboard box the tiles came in to hold the tiles when putting back into the box, It was a bit cheesy. ( A plastic box would look and last longer. All said I was pleased with my purchase.

I am not a game player but this one is really fun. I purchased this to take on a camping trip. It was a hit. The case it comes in makes for easy storage. The only problem I had was figuring out the scoring method. We just played until someone won and then played another game.
