Amazon does not offer a 4.5 star rating but that is my official rating. We bought this drone for my 10 year old son. For whatever reason, I was missing something in the initial setup and could not get it to operate. So on a Saturday afternoon I called Holy Stone customer support and reached a very helpful representative who quickly walked me through the setup process. She had us up and flying within minutes. I was impressed immediately with just how easy this drone is to control and operate. In fact it was easier for my 10 year old son to learn how to operate than me. What really blew me away was how well this drone operated in breezy conditions. It is able to compensate nicely and hover steady in one place and navigate with or against a (slight) wind. The follow me feature is cool, and one touch GPS return also a super nice feature. For a sub $200 drone, the video and picture taking capability is solid as well. I would have loved an option to pivot the camera prior to takeoff but that's a minor quibble.The only reason I am taking half a star off of my 5 star rating is that every so often the drone does not respond to remote commands. Most of the time it's temporary and not a big deal. However, one time in GPS return home mode it started off in a circling motion getting lower and lower before crashing into the side of a house. It was a hard impact, so much so that it broke one of the arms. It was not a full break but a crack wrapping around at least 2/3 of the arm near one of the motors. I called Holy Stone on a Sunday afternoon and again reached a very helpful representative. The asked me to document the incident and send pictures, which I did. About a week later we received a brand new drone. They also informed us we could keep the damaged drone for parts. Before turning it into a parts drone I decided I would see if it would fly with a makeshift repair. Because of the break, the arm was slightly twisted causing that motor and propeller to be at a different angle than the other 3. There was no way to get it back to original form so I just superglued it best I could and wrapped duct tape around it. I thought there was a decent chance it would be able to fly again but if so would be more difficult to control. To my surprise though, it flies no different that it did prior to the accident or the replacement drone. How it is able to compensate for the extra weight (duct tape) and propeller operating at a different angle I have no clue but it does. So now my 11 year old daughter flies the damaged drone which she loves.I had never heard of Holy Stone prior to looking at drones on Amazon. But the reviews were so good I decided to give them a shot. Needless to say we are glad we did. This was our first Holy Stone product, but it certainly won't be our last.

The Holy Stone HS110G video drone has large number of features, especially at its price-point. Aided by the built-in GPS navigation feature, a beginner (like me) will be able to fly disaster-free, while experimenting with video and still photography. The drone will stay exactly where you place it and hover, worry free, while snapping shots. A number of crash prevention features (no avoidance though) will safely land drone from the spot taken off from, be it low battery power or loss of connection to the handheld controller. My iPhone XS-MAX easily & securely attaches to the remote and pairs quickly. Our yard is very large, but surrounded by tall trees, so getting a GPS signal strong enough to unlock the drone for takeoff was no easy task. It took 1/2 hr to find the only 6’ x 6’ spot where takeoff, with GPS, was possible. My planned lakefront video projects may not be possible using GPS, so filming while simultaneously piloting would be far more difficult. I attempted to fly indoors without GPS, but crashed every single time (I recommend outdoor use only. I have not yet tried the follow-me option, or the draw-your-own flightpath features, but I am very excited about doing so. Headless mode (switchable from FPV) is another great feature for newbies who might otherwise be confused about joystick directions, thereby also reducing crash potential. The camera takes hi-resolution video to an onboard nanoSD (not-included) which is Then easily transferred onto my Mac. Flight time was far better than expected, considering the time to find a viable GPS signal, lasting about 15-mins. The videos are not stabilized, but for this low price they are fun to make an$ watch.A very good beginner’s drone, full of features, and just enough crash prevention tools to get into the fun of drone photography.Highly recommended!
