Q: Do they have the watermelon candy seeds? or did they get rid of that?

They don't have seeds. I don't think they make them with seeds anymore. The taffy is still very tasty. But I do miss the seeds.

Our Watermelon Laffy Taffy Stretchy and Tangy no longer contains seeds.

Q: Is this the same as tangy taffy I used to get when I was kid in the 80’s/90’s?

I’m not sure. I did grow up in the 90s but can’t remember if it’s the same, I don’t think it is. I actually only bought this because I like the cherry taffy with the little sugar sprinkles :) but they are the big ones vs the smaller snack size most people have.

The box I purchased had Sparkle Cherry in it, yes. No Wally Watermellon(with seeds) since they don't make it any more.
