FIRST, and FOREMOST, Check and record the Hood to Windshield Frame at the corners.
What I dearly Love about the struts is, the wrestling match with the Hood Support Rod is OVER! and I WON! What I didn't like was the attaching of the Strut Mounts to the hood. The measurements her are critical. Close doesn't count, like in horse shoes, lawn darts and hand grenades. I looked at several hood strut mounting videos, I tried the water marker pen, masking tape and duct tape throughout my process. Duct Tape (Originally DUCK TAPE when it was developed for the military during the Second War) and that seemed to be the cat's Meow for maintaining a position that would allow the loosening, mounting and tightening of the nuts on the hood with the least movement of the hood when both mounts were loosened. I reset the passenger side 3 times to get it to close and feel right, without the strut attached. (Probably inexperience hiad a large involvement in that) The Drivers side seemed easy. No washer line to move and no trimming of the gasket to remove the excess material, Duct Tape to more positively maintain the relative positions of the Hood and Hinge. I had no clearance problems there. The homework was done by Red Line with the struts. They allow the hood to be unlatched, then lifted a bit, then the struts take control of opening of the hood. Closing is easy, even with a hood that before needed to be dropped to get that latch to hold. I have Red Line Hood Struts on my other two vehicles, a 2020 Ford Escape, and a 2007 Ford Mustang Convertible. All of them took some wrestling with the prop rod and hood to get it secured open. Now, unlatch, lift a little and the struts do the rest, securely. One prop will hold the hood in the open position without any thought of it closing unexpectedly. Recommend the Red Line Struts to my friends and family, that I surely will.

Work great
Love them, i now simply open the latch and the hood goes up on its own. Have had them for about almost a year now and they’re still going on strong, install is very straight forward and simple. Definitely would recommend

Easy installation. Beats the heck out of the factory prop rid.
Good instructions. Took about 20 minutes to install. Very happy with the way the hood operates with these gas cylinders. Took a few extra minutes to trim the plastic out of the way when the strut all the way down, but seemed like a good idea to keep it from binding.

Great addition to the car
This is so much better than the OEM hood prop, super easy to install, fits great, looks so much better, plus no need to worry about propping the hood up. 10/10 would recommend

Amazing Product!! No more ugly and I'm the way prop-rod!!!!
Amazing product, came in sooner than expected! Which was a bonus, only took about 20 minutes to install due to having to cut small sections out of the cowl plastic for clearance, always easier to take your time and do it right then rush, you can't put back what you cut out! Fantastic product, super easy to install, works flawless and amazing addition to my 2014 focus st3. Install tip, use masking tape on the top edge and outer edge, closed to engine for easy alignment once bolts are taken out.

Worked Great on my 2017 Focus ST
It's a simple design made well. I've used these on my previous Mustangs, so I wanted it for my Focus ST. For anyone that works on cars a lot, the prop rod is more than annoying. I highly recommend this.

They work very well slightly lacking on quality control, but im picky. Still recommend.
They work well the fine detail left something to be desired. The driver side fender bracket had to be cut down so it didn't create a horrible fender gap, probably no fault of the product as im pretty sure this car had a mild front end hit at some point in its life. What got me was the hood brackets were bubbling under the paint. If not for that would have been 5 star. They are strong lift the hood themselves from about 40% open. As they reach fully open, they slow down for the last inch or so so your hood doesn't look like one of those doorstop springs you used to piss your parents off playing with.

Fits great and works very well on my 2018 Focus RS

Very nice product, fit and finish are top notch. The paint on the mounting brackets isn’t stellar, had to touch up the one. Kind of a pain to install, as it’s hard to line the proper hood gap up, and keep the mounting tabs parallel (so they match) all in all, a great product. Wish it came with a sticker. Will buy for my other focus in the future.

These are absolutely amazing! I've been waiting for a deal on them for quite a while now and it finally happened! Absolutely would recommend these over the traditional hood prop. Lots of access to the engine bay now with it removed. I highly recommend taping where your original hood sits and maybe even a second hand. I did it all on my own and it was a bit of a challenge but it wasn't too bad!
