Great hold
This worked great for our fallen mirror. The package looked as if the product was leaking on the inside as other reviewers have mentioned. But we followed the directions and it worked perfectly. It's been several months in different temperatures, and it's holding solid

So far, so good
My rearview mirror is always falling off and I usually have to take it to the local body shop. This time, they body shop told me to take it to the glass repair shop instead since it is obviously not staying on. Instead of doing what they recommended, I decided to just fix it myself, so I ordered this adhesive to glue the mirror onto the windshield. So far, my mirror is still holding strong and it was easy to do. The only thing I would say is a downside is that there was only one wipe included in the package, so although there is enough glue for more than one application, there is only one single use wipe included. If my mirror falls off again I'll just use an alcohol wipe, but it would still be nice to have 2-3 of the wipes that is comes with.

Does NOT WORK!! Can Crack Windshield due to chemical HEAT!!
I bought this Loctite Rear View Mirror specific glue and it FAILED in 5 days. Mirror fell off. It was not my first Rodeo, so everything was done correctly. Bond was just no good in Florida Heat. To add injury to FAILURE...just a day before it fell off I noticed a 1 inch crack going left and right from center of the Metal tab on windshield. (It's grown to 3 inches but seems to have stopped now. Can't be felt on either side of windshield with fingernail or Razor Blade, so it's not to the exterior.....YET.) I used just ONE DROP in center and pressed it up to the glass and held it in place for proper amount of time. NO crack seen the next day when I put the mirror on. The "Activator" reaction with the glue must have had some serious heat that I didn't notice on my Thumb while holding it. I tried the Loctite cheaper Glass Glue as well since it is rated to 176F and I've measured temps of over 140F on my Truck windshield. It failed within hours of mounting mirror after letting tab cure for 48 hours. I'm trying the Loctite 5 Minute Epoxy now. It's only rated to 120F so I'm not hopeful...but it's still on after two days now. LOL If this fails....I will use PERMATEX 5 Minute Epoxy that I have used on my Golf Clubs for Decades. I've NEVER had a bond fail on those clubs. Need the Heat Gun to change out shafts. P.S. I saw Ole' Scotty Kilmer using this stuff on YouTube and poo pooing people who say it fails...Pfftt...rofl :~)

Getting the glue out
Came within two days. Read the directions, scraped the old glue off the windshield with a razor. Circled the area outside the glass then applied the cleaner to the inside and the piece that glues to the glass. Opened the glue but the glue would not come out easily. So I kept dabbing the cap back on then putting a small amount onto the metal until it equaled a drop. Stuck it to the glass and it worked. Then I took the glue and squeezed it hard and a nice drop came out. So the only advice I could give is squeeze the tube hard enough to get the glue out. I then waited at least an hour and reinstalled the mirror. It seems to work and would recommend/purchase again. Amazon stands behind everything they offer and if anything went wrong I sure they would help. If it came opened or something was wrong with the glue dispenser, I think Amazon would send another. Some people just like to complain about anything. The product worked as described and at a great price therefore a rating of at least a 4 is deserved. I give it a five.

It does the job...But mixed feelings for my application...
First, let me say this; The car I've used this on twice is a 1994 Thunderbird LX. The rear view mirror is self dimming and heavier than the average mirror. The first time my mirror dropped, I purchased this product, followed the directions and rehung the mirror. About 2 years later my mirror dropped again. So, I purchased this product and did the above again. HOWEVER... This time I screwed up. I glued the windshield mount on upside down without realizing it and let the adhesive set. OOOPS... Thank god for the internet as I watched a few video's that showed that most adhesives could be loosened by using heat. For me, cold weather had set in right after I screwed up. So, I had to do this gradually with a hair dryer, then a heat gun so I wouldn't crack the windshield. Luckily the windshield didn't crack, the mount came off and I was able to easily remove the adhesive from the glass and mount. I drove the car with the side view mirrors until it warmed up and I was able to reinstall the rear view...right side up. It's been around 2 years and still holding. We'll see if it drops again. Will I use this product again? Yes. I screwed up and was easily able to fix my mistake without going to a shop. If I have to go through this every few years, I already learned and know the routine. Suggestion for you... Before you clean your old adhesive off of your windshield, use a marker on the outside to show where the mount was. You will be able to see this outline from the inside to make sure you're position is correct as well as avoid installing the mount upside down. The marker will come off the outside easily with glass cleaner and a little steel wool/scotch brite. Overall, 5 stars for saving my butt when I messed up. 4 stars because I have had to go through this every few years. It could be the weight of my mirror, the adhesive, or something I don't realize I'm doing wrong. Either way, it does the job and has your back if you screw up.

Great product
I've tried many adhesives before trying Permatex 81840, and by far it provided the greatest results. Old car, 2003 Chevrolet if that matters, but the mirror is the original ,after a few years this adhesives has worked the best. Dries quickly, no need to wait hours on end, great product.

Following the manual and waiting for dry periods of eqch steps, the outcome is great. My mirror in a Chevy Astro van is heavy. The weather....well..Dubai! 42C normally.So...the challenge is on.As the first day,I can say it is snug. After few moments of putting the metal button with the mirror on,I couldn t move it anymore.Left for overnight with some tape on it to release the weight a bit.Today I tested.Boy....it s not going to come off easily.
