So easy to read and understand!!
I have read thru the manual that comes with the Nikon D90 and only understood some of it. This book breaks it down in sections that are very easy to read and understand. I was surprised. I have learned so much just reading it once.

Very Helpful and Complete Guide to the Nikon D90!
This book exceeded our expectations by a wide margin! Very well written and arranged; copiously illustrated with many helpful color illustrations and photographic examples; printed on very high quality paper! Currently priced at approximately 50% off! Very highly recommended if you have a D 90!

Easier Read Than the Manual
When I was thinking of what to say in this review, it occurred to me that reading "Nikon D90 for Dummies" was like having a friend walk you through what the camera does -- and then I read similar comments by another reviewer. When I was looking for a book to help me understand the D90 and all it could do, I narrowed my choices down to Julie Adair King's (JAK) book and Ben Long's "The D90 Companion." I have no regrets in buying either one.JAK's book is well written and very well illustrated. Some may find the continual references to other sections repetitious, but those cross references are most helpful when you use the book as a reference. "... for Dummies'" scope is limited to what the D90 does and how the user activates the various functions. JAK has written other books on photography which presumably pick up where this book leaves off.I'd recommend reading this book with your D90 close at hand. Try what she says on YOUR D90. And of course practice! As we all know, all your pictures except the first one are free.

Good way to start and to review the basics
I have had the D90 for years, but this book helped me learn some new things... and reviewed other things I already knew.It is easy to follow along with camera in hand, and the style of writing makes learning fun for "this" dummie.I own the book written by one of the "nikonians", and I like this book better. Less opinion and more useful facts.I should add that I bet there are other books on the D90 for more advanced users too. So, buy many and learn alot.Have Fun!

Great book!
The last SLR camera I bought was a Nikkormat, so starting fresh with a D90 was really an experience akin to culture shock. The camera itself is great. If you want, set it to automatic and it will take very good pictures under almost any conditions. However, for the price of this camera you certainly are looking for near professional flexilibity. That equates to many, many options you need to be familiar with to use it effectively. The "D90 for Dummies" was very helpful to me in getting up to speed with the changes that have been put into place over the last thirty years. Basically, the Nikkormat and the D90 do a lot of things the same way. The book gives a very good and understandable transition lesson from manual to digital/computerized photography. If you are already familiar with digital SLR's, the book might be a bit elementary. It would be a good adjunct to the owner's manual.

Same photos in the D40 book
Purchased this book for the D90 because I bought it when I had my D40. Author used the exact same images in the Nikon D90 for Dummies as were used in the Nikon D40 for Dummies. That was disappointing. Since the D90 had so many more features than the D40, I was hoping it would help me learn about the D90. For the most part, I found it helpful.

Great CONDITION
I was over joyed to see the new like condition of this book. The reason I bought it was because I misplaced my other one.
