You can't beat these strings for less than ten bucks.
Yeah, you didn't know Lenzner made a whole set of strings, right? The Goldbrokat E string is a standard E string used by many many accomplished violinists and fiddlers. But, what about the rest of the Goldbrokat strings? At the low low price of eight dollars for a whole set of violin strings, I'd say these are worth slightly more than the selling price. The E is fabulous, of course. The rest of the strings are responsive, bright, flexible, and not aweful. They lend a slightly tinny sound to the fiddle. The G and D strings are actually not too shabby, though nothing exciting. The A string needs some serious breaking-in, starting out really bright and shrill compared to the others. And, I had some serious false-note issues with the A string; it was just acting weird. If you're the type of person who says, "Darn all them picky stuck up violin snobs; I refuse to pay more than ten bucks for my strings" then I think you'll be very happy with these - just commit and don't second-guess it.The focused, tinny sound of these strings might actually be really nice for southern old-time, though that is not a genera I have much experience in.Disclosure: I'm a fairly knowledgeable fiddle player, not a "violinist."

Good quality and affordable price
I have been using Lenzner strings for years. It's good quality and affordable for practice. That's why I choose this brand undoubtedly. USPS lost my package, however Johnson String Instrument sent my another set! It totally saved my day and I am really happy that I finally received it. I practiced for less than a week. So far it's been good.

Nice strings
Looks like a really nice string set for the price. So far I have only used the G string. I put it on a cheap student fiddle which was weak and whiny on the bass side, and the steel string livened it up and gave it a better sounding bass response. It gets along well with the synthetic D, A, and E strings and now the fiddle has a more balanced sound across all strings. That alone was worth the price to me, and was the reason I bought the set.I'll try the other strings as I have occasion to use steel strings.

String broke during standard tuning ..
Bad quality. D string broke before I could tune ... was at C when it broke .. two notes down of where its supposed to work .. (and i am not a new musician, I have been playing for last 10 years)
