It works but buyer beware! This product is very handy but keep in mind that it will not replace a proper sharpening of your chainsaw blade yes it will work if you are in a bind and you need a quick sharpening but if you want your chainsaw blade last I don’t suggest using this on it ! The fact of the matter is is that the proper way to sharpen a chainsaw blade requires a couple of very specialized tools where is all this product does is sharpens the very outside of the blade as I said it will work for what you need if you were in a pinch but otherwise I would not use it on a regular basis otherwise you will burn through chainsaw blades!!

This made chain saw sharpening so easy it seemed like a wonderful idea. So at the price I bought one despite the fact that the sharpening it does, bears no relation to the more time consuming way a chain saw is normally sharpened, nor does it even impact he same surfaces. I tried it twice and to me it seemed to have no discernible improvement to the chain.

I tried this on my chainsaw chain and it damaged the chain so bad that i am going to have to replace it at my expeince.

I really like this tool!Perfect for making my chains last as long as possible.I was surprised on how easy it was to use.I would highly recommend his to anyone who uses there chainsaw on the regular or wants to save money on replacement chains.

Received this and my chain bar only had 1 hole...not the required 2...so instructions on device indicates to drill another hole - tried that an ruined a $50 Stihl bar for my saw...beware

It needs to be made clearer that you are going to have to drill a new hole in your chain bar. The stone is too soft. They need to send a drill pattern and bit size to put the new hole in the bar. I estimate you will not get more than 4 maybe 5 chain sharpening from each Stone.The first time I used it I dialed my chain even further. When pushing down on the plunger be very gentle. If you see a great deal of Sparks coming out of the stool you are pushing it too hard. My second attempt did sharpen my chain. Be very gentle when pushing the plunger.

Finally went to use my ADINC SHARPNER and realize now that it will not fit my 16” Husqvarna chain saw because it does not have two holes in the guide. SHARPNER is useless and I would like to return it

Not well made. Used it on two used chainsaw chains and inspection of before and after 2x 3-4min sessions applying moderate pressure showed uneven sharpening of leading and trailing chain cutting surfaces. Unit can pop open unexpectedly during sharpening, unit needs a better latching closed mechanism while in sharpening mode.I would not repurchase this unit.
