works as described, didn't have another to compare humidity level

Works as advertised, allows me to keep a close eye on moisture of my hay.

I baled some hay that was still a little green, but we were calling for downpours. Ordered this to keep in the tractor. It comes with a nice zipper case. Easy to use and case makes me feel better about storing in the tractor. Would reccomend.

I am a novice hay farmer, having harvested my first hay crop this year. I found this easy to use and accurate enough for small farm use. There were many to choose from and they varied in price quite a bit. I chose this, which was on the less expensive side. I am happy with this purchase.

Husband will be using it all summer. One cutting down 4 to go! Great size easy to use

I have no idea if this product works or not. The user's manual provides three codes: 00=Straw/General 01=Guinea Grass/Clover 02=Soap Wort 03=Wheat Straw 04=???? Sadly, in my area (Central Texas, USA), I have none of these. How does one determine if it is accurately metering the grass properly? If you toggle between codes, the results vary drastically!!! Additionally, there are absolutely no calibration instructions (which are included with competing meters). I will be returning this product simply because A) I have no way of accurately determining the moisture level of my hay, thus I am unable to determine if my hay is ready to bale and 2) I do not want to risk excessive moisture levels...which can lead to combustion and burn my barn down. Ultimately, the risk outweighs the gamble and I do NOT recommend this product.

First year cutting my own hay. My second crop was questionable so I ordered this tester. Certain bales were well above allowable moisture. Moved the hay outside and it got hot, quick. Truly think I would have burned my barn down. I can’t say how accurate it is since I don’t have another to compare. I could only compare first and second cut bales and there was a big difference. I will check prior to baling next time.
