Worth every penny
Being that this redcat chimera is one of the cheapest gas 1/5 scale cars out there, it's awesome. It isn't the fastest, but it's still a blast running it. Break in process was simple, fired up on third pull on it's first start. Killswitch was easy to install. It handles great, replacement parts are cheap. The only 2 issues right out of the box, it's only 2 channels, for me wasn't a big deal because I already had a 7 channel radiolink and a receiver for it already. Second issue was one of the screws for pull start housing was stripped when I went to remove it to install the killswitch. I called redcat and they were going to replace whatever was needed to fix the issue. They said to do whatever needed to be done to remove the screw. Take pictures and submit part list and they would take care of it. I drilled the screw out and retapped threads to clean out debris. I'm to impatient to go through the warranty process and went ahead and got on Amazon and ordered 2 screws and spacers from redcat for $12.99. I has total confidence it would have been taken care of, drilling out the screw went perfect and no additional damage occurred, I didn't want to wait. If it doesn't stay tightened and backs out then I'll make a warranty claim, but do far so good. Update car is good but having issues with exhaust burning through the plastic roll cage. If you jump it or roll it the exhaust moves. I've taken everything apart twice to fix roll cage. I just ordered a different exhaust. I'm going to run it for a while and I'll do a review on it and I may update this review again.

Its fun and loud
It’s fun , you can say I have a weed eater R/C car . It’s not all that fast , but it is fun , make sure you check all the screws you can find , I lost a balljoint sleeve day 2 . You definitely want an engine kill switch , I had to jog about 200 yards to get my car in the woods after it took off full throttle with no control at all , I believe the receiver died . I’ve since changed it and waiting on the kill switch . Up against a tree full throttle for about 3 minutes is not ideal. It handles decent , it will flip over if you’re not careful. Overall I like it , it’s cool to watch people’s reactions when you crank up the 2 stroke and rap the throttle. It’s not a nitro it’s pump gas .. as a matter of fact . If you want to continue to rebuild the carb use pump gas . For the cost vs carb repair time , I use trufuel 4 cycle and add the oil myself . I’ll never have carb problems. Used it for years in all my 2cycle engines. The car is fun it handles good and it’s huge I would recommend getting one, The price not so nice . But gotta pay to play I guess . Hope this helps. I also got the Rampage XT . Fun as well , handles better in my opinion, harder to flip .. these things are fun .

Awesome car! Not recommended for newbie
Received my car today first off the boxes huge!! I would give it 5 stars but unfortunately I have to give it four Stars. Five minutes into running the car I immediately lost its foward motion. Haven't had the car for an hour before I was wrenching on it luckily it was a simple repair a set screw within the gears had backed off and I was able to put Loctite on it and reinstall it. Just came back ran two tanks through the car car is running excellent. I will advise a newbie or novice not to operate or purchase this car if you are not mechanically inclined this is not the car for you fortunately I do have experience and knowledge of motors and gearing so it was an easy fix for me. Other than that small hiccup the card excellent I recommend it to anybody who has knowledge and can turn a wrench

AWSOME TRUCK!!!
I got this for christmas and it did not take long to get it up and running, A Couple of mods I reccomend is move the on / off switch to the top of the battery cover because the side mounting is not easily accessible, also if you slice the reciever battery wires on the the batter included and attach the charging harness and them mount the plug outside the enclosure. You can charge your receiver battery without ever removing the 4 hex screws to get to the battery, Breaking it in is very easy, don't run the first 2 tanks over 5000 rpms. LOL trust me this thing is so fast you will be tempted to gun it out the box but dont. It runs fair on the first tank due to breaking in but once that's done LOOK OUT!!!! You'll get 45minutes run time easy on a tank of gas. The gas to oil ratio on break in is 20:1 then after break in it's 32:1 You will love this vehicle and won't regret the purchase!!!!
