It's hilarious. Dare I say it, more hilarious than Deadpool, although he does cameo in this volume. This may not be what you're searching for if you're looking for more of an international spy thriller comic (try Marvel Now's Black Widow or Elektra instead). Just when you think things are about to turn really serious, Kot unveils a hilarious twist that gives reasons to the characters intentions. It sticks with the overall tone of the series, and to me it was just perfect. For people looking for more hilarious Clint Barton or Phil Coulson stuff, read this comic. For people looking for Jessica Drew and Natasha Romanoff being buddy-buddy, read this comic. For people looking for Maria Hill-centric plots, read this comic. For people looking for hilarious M.O.D.O.K. moments, read this comic. The art's pretty casual and fits well with the series. The covers are all by Tradd Moore, and one of his covers was inspired by Lisa Frank. That should tell you all you really need to know. Review: Super fun series - Super fun series, absolutely love how fast it all moves and the sense of humor in it. Would suggest this series to anyone.

smart, fun, stimulating, and funny
Ales Kot and the rest of the creators are doing things in comics that are the next step behind guys like Frank Miller and Alan Moore passing through the work of Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis on the JUSTICE LEAGUE books in the 80s, and on through the work Sam Keith did in THE MAXX, and then throwing in Jacques Derrida and Slavoj Žižek. Definitely worth reading. Oh, and I don't want to leave out Matt Fraction as an influence. Kot even throws in a reference to him in the book.

The Secret Avengers team line-up is working for me. I really like the dynamics of this book.
Collects Secret Avengers (2014) issues #6-10 Ales Kot is a great writer, and Michael Walsh's art was perfect for this story. I loved this book. I'm a big fan of Nick Spencer, so I would have thought that I would have preferred his "Secret Avengers" run, but Kot's run is much more entertaining to me. Laugh out loud funny mixed with good spy action. This book is a winner. As the cover indicates, Deadpool plays a part in this particular volume. It took me a long time to get here, but I'm finally ready to read some Deadpool comics. I don't know what has kept me away for so long, but I think I had a negative view of the character in my mind. He has made appearances in some non-Deadpool-centric comics (including this one) that I've read, and he is often one of the highlights of those stories. That's the case here. His inclusion in "Secret Avengers" was so good that I'm hoping he becomes a regular cast member. Either way, I plan to pick up my first "Deadpool" trade soon. The Secret Avengers team line-up is working for me. I really like the dynamics of this book.

This is a truly great second volume to a really quirky take on the Avengers. More, please.
