Solid performer
good:1. Solid, thick and designed very very well. handles are very comfortable and beautiful, cleaning is very easy, surface coating seem very different than other pans I had at same price range.2. Handles are bolted in solidly, unlike other type of pans. It looks like it's going to be on there and won't get sloppy.3. Handles are metal, so you could put this in the oven up to 450, which means, this is a lot more versatile than other plastic handle pans. I tried finding a good pan with a metal handle and they're way above this price range.4. 10" pan fits inside the 12" pan upside down, so you could use it as a lid if you want. I do.5. Tried to scratch the upper part of the pan with a fork to see how well it handles under a light pressure scratching, and did excellent.6. For something this cheap, there are a lot of design details that's found in pans twice the price. And you get two instead of one.7. really easy to clean.8. the sides are very tall, so you could do a lot more different type of cooking with it.9. Passed "Wok Toss" test. It handled beautifully.10. Never had a pan that cooks eggs this nicely, especially sunny side up.bad:1. the pan heats up but never heats up hot enough. The thickness of the pan does prevent it from overheating, which is good and bad. The 10" seem to heat up better than the 12" pan.2. the heat is not distributed evenly throughout the pan. This is also on 12" pan. The 10" did a lot better.3. It's a bit heavy. When I say this, I don't think my mom will be happy using this because it's heavy, but I have no problem using this pan.4. I want more of Calphalon stuff that I don't need.

Very happy
I bought these pans about a month ago. I own perhaps about 25 Calphalon pieces of cookware spread out over two houses, (all anodized aluminum). I've been thinking of some non-stick for a while and this set caught my eye solely for the price. The two pans, both because of size and style, are two of the most versatile pans you can own - two that I would suggest be the starter pans for anyone looking to move up to Calphalon.I started using Calphalon about 25 years ago--well before it became chic to spend $100 for a single pan. I picked up a couple pieces really cheap and, well, that was it - I hate to cook on anything else. Over the years the weights (thickness) of the pans have become lighter; many people argue that they have become easier to handle - especially for yuppie housewives. This set is no different but they are still heavy and true Calphalon quality.I love the handles as they are a true "stay cool" design. Hot handles on my "old guys" have always been an issue to anyone I've tried to expose Calphalon to. Over the years I've become use to pot holders or the leather sleeves needed to handle them. I did buy a couple pans a few years ago with a slightly different design of stay-cool handles and love them also. This set has a smooth, European design that is clean and feels great in your hand.As for the "non-stick", time will tell. I still use a bit of Pam for everything I cook in them. The "slickness" of the surface is fantastic but with any non-stick pan, the true test is how long the surface holds up to use.The cost was a no-brainer. You can't buy the 8 inch pan on Amazon for the price of the set. If anyone out there wanted to try Calphalon, this set is my best suggestion.

Good quality for the price
I don't love the hard anodized aluminum, it stains and is hard to keep clean. These are really good quality for the price and the non-stick surface works well. The handle design is nice, allowing it to remain cool when the pan is hot (still use appropriate caution when lifting with bare hand though). My continuing disappointment with non-stick pans is their lack of long-term durability. These cost more than some but they are good quality. I am hopeful they will last longer than many.

Excellent Pans and will cut your cooking time
These are some GREAT pans. I've had them for about 2 months and i use them at least 3 times a week. Clean up is really really easy - small bit of soap and whatever is stuck there comes right out (even if it's been there for a while)! They are heavy and well constructed, there is no flex between the handle and the pan. The non-stick works great - i've been able to sear steaks and pork chops in these pans with no issues and they come right off after the sear is complete. I also really like the over safe feature...this literally cuts my cooking time down by a third - brown the chicken breast or pork or whatever first on the stovetop and then transfer right to the oven; the pan is still hot from the browning and i think this helps cook the food faster. Also, the price for this set is amazing...one 12" pan usually costs as much as this set. I highly recommend this item.
