CCTV Camera power supply especially for night vision
I have 16 cameras all with IR night vision, the original power supply didn't seem to have the juice for all the cameras IR's especially over 100 ft runs for some cameras. This year the power supply died to 8 of my 16 cameras, when I called where I bought it they stated the manufacture offers Life time warranty. Then told me they started this the year after I bought mine, so I was S.O.L..........great I explained what I had setup and that I had 16 cameras and they stated I needed more AMP,s then my old one offered for all those cameras........??????? They didn't state this when they originally sold this to me, and yet They were aware of my setup before.Disgusted I went elsewhere looking for 12V DC CCTV power supply with MAX amps. In my search I came across 12 AMP, 16 AMP, 20 AMP, and 24 AMP. Then I stumbled onto this one 12V DC 29 AMPS!!!!!for 18 cameras. ( Yes I still only have 16 no plans yet to add more ) I searched the internet and saw prices for this exact model ranging from as low as $69.99 to as high as $259 with the average price being $99. For $69.99 I jumped on it, shipping was fast IR on my cameras work great have yet to see it get hot enough for fan to come on automatically but it does get warm. Installation was easy, little tight along wire connections but not that big of a deal. Only down side is doesn't come with a Door lock. Be nice to have this to prevent thieves from cutting power to cameras. I just lock door to room where camera system is so NOT a deal breaker. Other minor issues would have liked trip switch instead of fuses. Also have to find a place for replaceable fuses haven't looked yet but need to in case a 1or 2 go.My opinion over all is can't go wrong with this power supply seems very well built and does the job well, just search around don't buy for $259 current price at time of this review $75 9/16/2013

Excellent replacement for my dead LTS power supply
I have had two LTS camera power supplies fail in the last 7 years due to defective (swollen) capacitors, and I wanted to avoid them. The build quality is much better than the LTS power supply, and the actual power supply unit inside is made by Meanwell, which has a reputation for rock solid laboratory power supplies. The voltage is adjustable, as another reviewer pointed out, so you can compensate for voltage drop on long cable runs, by turning the voltage up slightly.

Works fine but with caveats
Works fine but with caveats. For SHORT cable runs it works. BUT, if you have a long run, like 100 feet or more, you're going to have problems.ALL of the security camera cable sets that are for sale on Amazon and everywhere else are CHEAPLY MADE.They all are 22 to 24awg, the wires are fine like baby hair and they are completely inadequate to carry 12 volts over a long distance.Smaller wires = higher resistance = voltage drop. And a camera that has IR LEDs will draw a good bit more than those tiny wires can carry. On a 100' run the voltage dropped enough that when it got dark and the camera LEDs came on it drew more than the wires could supply and the camera goes into a brownout and reboot cycle. So I ended up having to compensate for this by using an old laptop power brick that pushed 14v 2amps to the camera on the 100' wire. After the voltage drop it still was able to pull 12 volts through the wire so the camera could operate correctly at night. What would be the ideal power supply would be one that you could set a jumper on each output to give 12v or 14v to overcome wiring issues.OR, what would be the best thing would be for the Chinese cable makers to make cables that follow proper electrical specifications. It's actually unsafe to push more voltage through a wire than it's rated for. But what can you do when ALL the cables are made wrong?Anyway, I like this device. I wish there were one with double the capacity (36 camera) but there isn't so I'll have to buy a second one.I'm also going to have to shop for one that's similar but allows higher voltage output for overcoming cheaply made Chinese cables. If your cable runs are under 100 feet you should be ok with this. I give it 4 stars, I would give it 5 if there were jumpers to output higher voltages.

Great power supply for a reasonable price.
I am very pleased with this power supply, and have been using it to run 12 security cameras and a few IR lights and the DVR as well off of it around my large backyard. Have never had a problem, and power distribution is very efficient. The only downside I have noticed, is at night, when IR lights kick in, it start to draw extra juice, the power supply's fan kicks in to keep itself cool, and it is very loud and can run for a few hours during the night. Aside from that, and if you keep this power supply outside your bedroom, it's a very good piece of technology. I am planning to swap the cooling fan with a silent fan, and it should be golden. Overall good and awesome Product, I power 10 full HD cameras and 2 720P and a few huge IR "projectors" and the DVR with 5TB hard drive in it with no problem.
