Please consider this item!!! THE BEST
The best light! Five adjustable light wave settings. YouTube very helpful with suggestions for settings. This is the second light we’ve purchased. Each with an upgrade. Awesome price! Very competitive. Shipping experience excellent! I recommend this product!

Excellent, especially for versatility and plants.
Arrive 4 days after placing order. Well packaged and in excellent shape. Pricey but the best led I have used. Pros High PAR value compared to other led aquarium lights. Many unlimited light options for color. Can set various light intensities, duration and cycles. Waterproof. Has app for iPhone to control led features. Cons Would be nice to have ability to set many of the light functions on the led light itself instead of having to go through iPhone all the time. Would be nice to have battery in led in case of power failure. Would be nice if manual talked about various light settings for different size tanks and plant types. Would be nice to control led through a windows computer, maybe an optional remote to set it up?

Great Light
I've seen a lot of bad reviews, and I understand why the people that got scratched up and used lights are upset. But I didnt notice any scratches on mine (I didnt exactly look for them) but the light works perfectly fine for me. I dont think the plants and animals in my aquarium really care about the scratches, so I think some people may have over reacted a bit. The box it came in was a little beat up, but not badly. Just kinda bent out of place. Nothing was damaged though as far as I know. App is super easy to use. It offered more colored lights than I thought there would be (thought there would be only white and blue) and it make my axalotl taste k look much nicer. They require lower light setting for they have no eyelids and it's great that I can lower the light with no problem. If there are scratches, so be it. I'm not focusing on the exterior of the light from a distance. I'm looking at my aquarium with live plants.

Robust and of high quality
First thing is this light is extremely well built. The chassis is heavy duty aluminum and is sleek. The cord length is great and allows for proper placement without having to try to place the transformer in places to accommodate. The app is ok and honestly you can achieve excating levels of each color of light and time. It could be better by being able to drag the lines on the graph for time and light level but its not a deal killer and an update to the app would fix that if they desired. Back to the light, I like the way it mounts but if you want it higher off the tank you will need to make or find a way to do so. I wis they would include a set of bent wires to use if the straight hangers were not wanted. Again not a deal killer because the light itself is every bit worth the cost. The led board looks good and there seems to be great heat disposal built in. As of right now i have no gripes with this light.

Nice fixture for growing low to medium light loving plants with a couple of issues
I purchased the Fluval Plant 3.0 LED Planted Aquarium Lighting to replace a failing Beamworks fixture. The latter used warm white LEDs for illumination. Compared with the Beamworks fixture, the Fluval fixture in the planted aquarium mode provides more vibrant coloration of the fish. I mounted the fixture from the ceiling using some of my existing hardware together with Fluval mounting clips (part no 14565) about 4 inches from the top of the aquarium. If the fixture is set on the top of the aquarium, it always will interfere with access to the aquarium and elevating the light provides better light dispersion and thus better illumination of the tank. This will reduce light intensity. The only mounting option that comes with the light is for directly setting the light on the tank. The aforementioned mounting clips are sold separately and are intended for mounting the light to a wood hood. The clips are made of flexible plastic and come with two wood screws and washers. The app works well but is only Bluetooth. Of course, this means that one needs to be close to the light to control it. Further, in the event of a power outage, the time defaults back to 00am. This not an issue if you are home, but if you are traveling this could be a problem. A work around is to allow the lamp to complete the set schedule, turn it off and then turn it on at 00am every day. The timer must not be impacted by the power failure. I use a Neptune Apex for this purpose and thus far the light has performed flawlessly. Power to the fixture is provided by a 24V driver. I dropped the rating on the light because I think that the clips should be provided with the lights and because of the “clock” issue.

Best lights for the techies out there!
Out of all the light systems I've tried, these are probably the most convenient and configurable of them all. I recently purchased a Fluval Flux tank. After playing seeing all the things you can do with the included light system, I made the plunge and replaced all five of my aquarium lights with Fluval lights. Pro's: *Easy/Highly configurable. You can set your lights and color any way you like or use the built-in presets. *Super bright! I've had to tweak my lights often to avoid algae growth, but my plants are going crazy. *The warranty is three years on their lights! Cons's: *The iPhone app is slightly quirky and could use some work. It's just not as polished as other smart lighting apps out there. I find certain features like export custom settings confusing. Not to mention you can only export to lights of the same type. If you have Grown Lights and Aquasky lights, you cannot import-export profiles across light types even if you want a similar effect on both. *I have an iPhone and Ipad. The lights seem to work best when you only use one device to configure them. I've had issues, particularly when I rename a light, the second device will lose connection with it, and you have to re-add the light back to the device. *You cannot group lights or configure similar lights together. I have two lights in my Fluval Flex tank. I have configured each one separately. It would be nice to group them and control them both at the same time. The app treats each light individually. *You only the ability to create one routine per light. It would be nice if you could configure different patterns per day of the week. For example, I have a tank in my bedroom and have the lights come on at 6:30 am on weekdays. I sleep in on the weekends and would prefer the lights to come on around 8 am. I've installed separate smart plugs (Kasa), that turn on the power to the units at 8 am on the weekends. *No integration with Alexa or other Smart systems. My entire house runs on Smarthings; it would be awesome to update the app to integrate with 3rd party applications. I have two tanks in my living room; it would be awesome if I could tell Alexa to turn off the lights when I want to watch a movie. Depending on the Fluval model, I have to pull out the app or hit the button light itself. *Occasionally, the lights will ignore the routines. I've run into a few instances where the lights should be off based on my configuration, but are still on. When I open the app and connect to the light, it suddenly re-syncs and continues where the routine should be. I realize I have lots of Cons, but they are mostly issues with the app itself. Fluval has the basics right but could enhance the app a bit. The light units themselves are great, and the ability to program them on a smart app makes them best in class for the average hobbyist.

Liked it enough I bought a second one!
I have this light on my planted 29G Amazonian Biotope tank. It is plenty powerful enough to grow just about any type of plant you could ask for. However, because of this power, it is important to properly program the light as to avoid unwanted effects such as algae growth. On my light, none of the colors go above 50% brightness at any point in the day. Personally I would recommend taking the time to learn how to use the "Pro" mode to program the light. While it looks complicated at first, it is actually quite easy to create a custom profile. It will help to control algae growth, and you can have it transition to different colors throughout the day just as nature does. To make a custom "Pro" profile, you just select a time point and set the brightness of each color. Then just repeat for up to 10 points in time. The light will fade/transition between time points automatically. I find it easiest to delete all the initial time points and start from scratch. A couple other things to know after purchase: 1) Power button color must be set to green to use app programming 2) If your power goes out, the light will default to its stock profile. So if you are out of town, it will still do a day/night cycle. Also if you find your tank lit up only blue during the day, this is probably why. 3) Because of the heat this light puts off and the texture, it will form water spots very quickly if it gets splashed. A little glass cleaner sprayed onto a paper towel (NOT ONTO THE LIGHT, OVERSPRAY WILL KILL YOUR FISH) will take them off quickly.
