Impressively quiet and fairly easy to install!
My first modular power supply, wasn't sure how to get some of the plugs to work with my Dell inspiron at first, but quickly figured everything out without needing any modifications and everything fired up first time perfectly and every time since! Love the extra cables for older molex and adapters for things like old floppy drives also! Nice to leave the cables out of the case that were not needed as well!

Works Great!
Works great, it is quiet, and it is very energy efficient. It is semi-modular and has up to four 6 to 8 pin connectors for graphic cards. This is a great power supply with 80 Gold Plus certification. Perfect for medium sized gaming builds without going over budget.

may not be the best
this has worked well to power my Desktop, but the power draw and heat creation is huge. this has caused my desktop which previously never had an issue to start overheating frequently. after very little time. may not be the best pick

CS750M shorted data AND backup drives / Corsair will not cover data recovery
I heard a lout ZAP and a persistent beeping coming from the other room. I found my server off and the UPS in panic. Troubleshooting revealed that this PSU shorted the SATA power bus, and destroyed the controllers on my 6TB data drive, it's mirror, AND the other backup drive, as well as disabled the Blu-ray drive. I told Corsair that their faulty drive destroyed 2.4TB of my data AND it's backups. They said they'd refund the cost of the drives, but wouldn't pay for data recovery ($1400 out of my own pocket?!). Since I'm still trying to recover my data, I can't send in the PSU or drives for "destructive" testing & reimbursement, so I have seen nary a dime. My next backup solution will not be dependent on a Corsair PSU, that's for sure.

Works great with one caveat.
Needed this to support my latest graphic card. Heard nothing but good stuff and it was well worth installing and making sure it all worked. But the one issue was when my computer idled at desktop with nothing else running, it would start whirring loudly. I found an obscure resource online that detailed changing some registry key in order to prevent it from switching on this "idle" whirring noise. It was pretty damn loud. After that, perfect! No problems.

Powerful, stable, and solidly built - worth the price.
I've been a fan of Corsair for a long time - I've been using their desktop RAM for more than a decade, and they've never let me down. I'm glad to see they put the same level of reliability and functionality into their other products. I finally had to upgrade my power supply this year, and while this is a bit overkill for my rig, the modular design and high quality definitely make this worth the price. There are cheaper PSU's out there, and definitely components of your computer you can safely cheap out on - the power supply is not one of those. I've been building computers - workstations and gaming rigs - for nearly twenty years, and the most catastrophic incidental failures I've ever seen have always been related to a cheap PSU going bad and frying the rest of the system. I always consider a good power supply an investment in the computer itself, and this one definitely hits the mark.

Installed in a Dell XPS 8700 with an EVGA 970 ...
Installed in a Dell XPS 8700 with an EVGA 970 FTW. In a few days the power supply fans started going full throttle seemingly randomly. It ramped up if the CPU and GPU were at idle (normal temps) or if I was playing a game such as Assassins Creed Unity or GTA 5. Used the 970 at stock settings and even tried under clocking with no luck. This wasn't just coil whine, in addition to the whine there was (what I presume to be) a grinding squealing sound of a bearing. When the PSU would idle it sounded OK, but it would inevitably revert back to full throttle at some point. Too loud to ignore and pass as normal, and too concerning to leave in my PC and trust it's operation. 1 starFit and semi-modular design and cabling were ok. +1starDell XPS 8700i7 4790EVGA 970 FTWIntel 530 180GB SSDWD Blue 1TB HDDCruicial 256 GB M550 MSATA24 GB RAM (2x8GB+2x4GB)

Best Purchase For a PSU
I bit the bullet and ordered the CS750M because of the warranty and the 80 Gold certification. Installation was quite easy although, this being my first time, where to place all the wires was daunting. Though, once I was done, I felt it was an easy task to do. It's very quiet. And it is powering a nice rig. Inside the computer there is 12 gb of RAM and 4 hard drives of which one is a SSD. Plus, the other usual accessories. I didn't have any difficulty attaching a cable to the SSD since that can be placed anywhere in the box. Right now, I have it Velcroed to another non-hard drive device.
