Legit footwear worn by our nations elite
I've worn several pair of these in various forms and they are the best. Their design is deliberate and functional but still 'cool' to wear. I would recommend buying some other insoles for all day comfort if you are not wearing these in a maritime/littoral environment.

It as comfortable as Hubby hoped
Received rather quickly. Shoe is great quality color is true to description. The only drawback is that the only size they had available in husbands size was the green colored ones and it was a wide. The wide made it uncomfortable even with inserts. He reordered in a different color regular not wide and those he loves. Good traction, very comfortable and looks great. If you don’t have a wide foot stick with the regular sized shoe.

Great shoes for a specific purpose
The shoes are perfect as intended. The negative reviews mostly stem from the people misusing them. These are NOT running shoes. These are NOT hiking shoes. Use your brain pan when selecting gear for your activities. These shoes are good for “street wear” shoes. These shoes are great for wearing in/around water. These shoes are awesome for wearing with fins. I used to wear chucks with fins. These are a very cool but functional modern upgrade. I use these for my county’s water rescue team with a few different sets of fins and they work great. In the water, on the beach sand, in the mud, in the boat. They work. Don’t use these for something you need a tennis shoe for. If you plan to wear these as daily wear change the insoles out. If you plan to do water operations the not so comfortable rubber insoles are there for a reason. On my 2nd pair been using them for close to 2 years.

Fit exactly like Chucks, except true to size
I was looking for a Chuck Taylor Allstar upgrade, and this fit the bill. Chucks run 1/2 size small, so a 10.5 Converse men's size is same as 11 (regular) Altama. The soles are the exact same footprint. They feel like chucks but with slightly more padding. Very comfy. For those who complain the shoe is too narrow, I don't think they are used wearing Chucks. That being said, the cordura is less forgiving than canvas, and it does have more padding, so there is slightly less room and it is a little more tight, but should break in fine. It even has the same lack of arch support the Converse have, which us flat footers can appreciate. As for the construction, it seems fine and quite frankly, if I get more than a month without the sole starting to separate, they will outlast the Converse.

Tactical Converse
To start it off, I would personally say that calling these boots is a lie. The best way I can describe these is tactical, beefed up converse. Which isn't a bad thing, per se, yet I felt it needed mention.Going on with the idea tac-shoe in mind, these are holding up more or less fine. No immediate wear and tear from just walking around town/using these for restaurant work (there is one bit of sticking coming up on a toe, but so far not a problem). The only issue I'd harp on is the utter lack of much support out of the sole itself. If you look at the pictures of said shoes, where the sole is flat, you have about as much of a flat surface under the (hard as rock) rubber insert they include. I wound up switching out the insert with another, more aggressive and comfortable insert once I found one. All the support the original gives is heel support, and maybe the slightest bit of arch support.Otherwise, the chief complaint would be that I can swear these run smaller than sizing, yet I'm unsure if it's just me being picky with how I like to wear my shoes/boots, them being pretty tight. To wear mine comfortably, I essentially need to keep the laces loose; really loose.Beyond that though, time will tell whether these shoes were a good investment before I grab myself a new pair of boots. If you're wanting a pair of tacticool shoes that kinda look like converse and may hold up better on average than other more basic shoes in the market, maybe a pair of shoes to wear between your boots or house kickers, or maybe you're just disillusioned with standard shoe companies and you want to support Altama or other combat boot making people, these could be your pick.Unless you are specifically looking for shoes that are flipper compatible (which is a feature I have no personal or professional need to test) or are quick-dry shoes for constant wet environs that is.

Nearly perfect shoes
My two favorite shoe designs for typical conditions are classic converse all stars and light combat style boots, these are a ideal mix of the two.I do a lot of walking and working in northern forest conditions, and they have performed well as the severe winter conditions have melted into severely muddy conditions. These shoe/boots are breezy, you can feel the wind blow through them in a way that will be very nice in summer, but was not unbearable on a recent day in the negatives Fahrenheit. They also weigh almost nothing, but are very sturdily made and are sufficient for riding a dirt bike or ATV as long as you aren’t sending it too fully.Worth every penny, i may own a second pair soon.
