Perfect for beginner compound bow setups

Who this is for:- This "hostage" style rest is great for recreational compound bow target archers. Many beginner compound bows include whisker biscuit rests which are ideal for hunters but exerts far too much drag for a target archer. For a low cost, this is a good upgrade for anyone who wants a small improvement in accuracy without much expense. This rest would work decently even for club archers, but semi-competitive archers have no doubt already moved on to blade rests or drop-away rests.- This rest is ideal for young beginners with compound bows such as many Bear, Matthews, and Diamond models. This brush capture rest avoids the direct contact with arrow vanes that can be so damaging with whisker biscuit rests. There is still a bit of contact, but not enough to cause premature vane damage. The installation is no more difficult than the whisker biscuit that comes with most beginner compound bows.Who this is not for:- This is not for Genesis bows using Genesis NASP arrows without modifications. The Genesis bow is popular in beginner archery programs and is an excellent instructional tool. Unfortunately, although Genesis bows look like compound bows, Genesis bows are a bit of an amalgam of compound and recurve bows. Genesis arrows have a lateral index vane (pointing left or right) as these bows are typically used and taught with with finger release. However, nearly all other compound bows are set up for a release aid and thus use arrows with an upward pointing index vane. This arrow rest can be installed and used on Genesis bows (replacing the standard recurve-style rest) as part of a conversion to mimic a more conventional compound bow set up. Such a conversion would include installing a D-loop and using a release aid, as well as rotating the Genesis arrow nock so that the index vane is pointing straight up rather than to the left or right.- This is not for archers with very thin target archery arrows. The pictures are of an arrow with an outer diameter of 1/4" and it fits perfectly. Thinner arrows will not be correctly located. Larger diameter arrows will work to a limit.- Serious hunters should not use this. The plastic material is not conducive to the beating that hunting bows must enduring, whether that is being occasionally dropped, enduring cold temperatures, or being occasionally dropped in cold temperatures. Some minor problems:- No instructions are provided. The assumption is that the user will look up some YouTube tutorials. The procedure is the same as that for any whisker biscuit rest. Note installing a new rest means the archer will need to expend some time "paper tuning" (Google it) to arrive at the correct dimensional location of the rest.- The supplied bolt did not fit in one of two bows that were tested. The oxide coating appears to be just thick enough that it may not fit in all bows. If you run into this problem, just bring this bolt to the hardware store and find a stainless steel equivalent. The bolt is size is 5/16"-24.

Not Bad @ All For The $$$

I was worried it would not align properly with my pre-nocked string on my Beloved Bear Whitetail 2, but low and behold it lined up perfectly! You must install it and then level your arrow ie nock it accordingly. If you have already nocked your bow string you may have to redo the nocking to make this arrow holder align properly on the North / Sought Axis. You have plenty of lee way when it comes to adjusting your arrow on the East West Plane.I suggest tightening down your brushes when you get it as one of mine was slightly loose. It comes with Allen Wrenches for affixing it to your bow and to tighten the East/West Arm Adjustment Brace. It does not come with an Allen Wrench to tighten or replace the brushes. The cheopo set @ Dollar Tree works fine.If you burn up the brushes its your fault for not aligning your Fletchings properly. I would suggest rotating the brushes once in a while as you would the tires on your vehicles. New brushes are readily available and that's a great thing. This item is made of plastic so how long will it hold up? Who knows but for the price who cares. I have paid a lot more for others that suck. This one does just fine for me and I'll buy more if I need to for this price. Therefore, I will buy again if necessary.Oh, Amazon wanted to know in the review about the warmth of this item. I guess I might feel a little warm and fuzzy for buying it if I really take a moment and go inside myself and reflect upon it for awhile. NO I Am Not Going To Do That! It will be Warm on a hot sunny day or if you leave it in your car in the sun. Otherwise it will be at whatever temperature as its surroundings. Geeeeez!

Watch the slow motion video

The media could not be loaded.  I love the concept of this it seems like a fantastic idea but the brushes make contact on the way out and it pushes the front of the arrow down I have this adjusted as good as it will go to where the fletchings do clear the brushes but as you'll see in the video the bottom brush makes contact with the fletchings and buck the back end of The arrow up where it flies tip down for a second

Great value for the money

Simple to install and makes a perfect rest that holds a zero and make your arrows repeatedly cluster in a tight group...It costs the price that practically gives them away...If you want a rest that will last for many years of rugged use? Choose another...But for average abuse and target...This works great..

Brush up on a better rest

Really happy with the quality and manufacture of this product. Feathers clear nicely and allows me to see the arrow better than other products. Also appreciate the inexpensive brush replacement cost! Mounts and adjusts easily. Highly recommended at this price point!

Not for Genesis original bow

Very easy to install, but it regardless of how I mounted it I could not center (left | right) it with the draw string. I also noticed that the was the bristles are not configured for the "odd feather out" set up. Probably excellent for higher end bows.
