How much does it elevate the back of the laptop?

Do the front tabs poke above the top of the wrist rest? I had a cheap one that would poke my wrists and it was irritating

Depending on how thick your laptop is, it may poke above the lip, but for me the tabs are close enough together that it doesn't bother me. Basically my wrists are outside the tabs. I am using a 13 inch Retina Display MacBook Pro

Ok, answers to how high the back legs are range from 1 1/4 to 2". Would someone actually use a tape measure and tell me exactly how tall the legs R.

You can use it on your lap and get the same amount of ventilation and stability as on a desk. Completely disregard reviews that say otherwise. Nothing wrong with using it on your lap, in fact thats the main way I use it because my 2017 MacBook Pro heats up in my lap.
