I worked with the author, Margo, for GMAT tutoring. After "diagnosing" my issues with the Quant section, Margo's first recommendation was that I purchase this book and review the concepts within. Without this book, there's no way I would have gone from a 42 to a 49 on the quant section (650 to 720 overall)."All Your Word Problems Solved" forced me to reprogram how I thought about math to focus on unrelenting efficiency in word problems. Additionally, while this book focuses on word problems, many of the lessons were repurposed to how I would think about wrought problem solving and data sufficiency questions. Through the lessons within the book, I learned that there a systematic way to attack each problem on the GMAT and that you can conserve valuable time by leveraging Margo's frameworks.To any GMAT prospect, yes, you should probably purchase the Official Guide and / or access to some prep group's question banks since this book does not contain adequate practice questions - but it wasn't intended to. This book serves as the catalyst to supercharge your math skills to ace those practice questions and subsequently the live test.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their GMAT Quant score.Some background info about me - I was scoring in the upper 30s/low 40's on my quant section prior to reading this book. I had enrolled / completed Manhattan Prep's GMAT in-person 9 week course and have read all of their recommended books that come in their Prep Package. Yet, i was still having trouble in my question set up, strategy, and efficiency during practice tests.This book was extremely beneficial and teaches each subject in a much more direct way than Manhattan Prep's quant books. The author does a great job mixing in real world examples to each GMAT subject which enables the student to grasp the lesson effectively. Margo isn't trying to push a bunch of formulas on you to remember. The book builds up your knowledge base which enables you to make more reliable and more intelligent decisions in the test. The book teaches you to sift through the extraneous information in the problem and how to set up each type of question.BUY THIS BOOK!! You won't regret it.

This fundamental approach to simplifying mental math by using more efficient problem solving techniques is a must have for standardized test takers. The author provides methodologies that are applicable to GMAT quant problems in any range of difficulty. This book improved my score and taught me to simplify the method in which I analyze everyday problem solving. This is a must have for GMAT takers. I only wish that I had used these techniques in high school for the SAT.

I have used web-based platforms, recommended 'must haves' books and blogs to prepare for the GMAT. None of them - NONE - came close to explaining the practicalities of the tested content and the meta themes the way this book does.In this book, you will find answer to:How simplicity, not complex models, holds the keys to getting to the right answer choice.Why do MBA schools insist on good standardised test scores?How each component that makes up the curriculum impacts you in everyday life?The tone and writing style used by M. Diewald is conversational. She knows her stuff and more importantly, know how to 'stack' experience and the resulting expertise to drive up total understanding and your GMAT score.I wish I had started my test prep with this book.

My biggest struggles before picking up this book were a relatively weak working memory of Geometry and Algebra, and a lack of set of effective strategies to solve the trickier GMAT quant problems in the time allotted. The explanations provided in GMAT specific prep-books provided complicated, often extremely lengthy methods for solving the problems. However, to succeed on the GMAT, you need to have a strong knowledge base, and a variety of strategies at your disposal that allow you to skip unnecessarily time consuming math to solve the problem and move onto the next one. This book provides you just that: an overview of the basics you need to know, and the tools to create a broad foundation of strategies you need to answer any question quickly and effectively. The strategies are a different way of approaching both Math and the Quant section, but ones that pay off immensely. I would recommend this to anyone looking to up their Quant score on the GMAT or any standardized test.

I have always struggled with the Quant section of any standardized test because study aids from major education publishers always talked about the long ways to solve problems. This resulted in many rushed, incorrect answers and low Quant scores. I originally bought the 10 Manhattan Prep books and started to read them with the hopes of getting a high GMAT score but realized I was wasting my time when their points could have been summarized in a few pages. Enter All Your Word Problems Solved! I really appreciated how straightforward and insightful this book is. Each chapter is only a couple of pages but gives you the frameworks to look at each type of Quant section. Some of the strategies are even applicable to the Critical Reasoning section of the GMAT. Highly recommend this book!

After almost two years of GMAT prep, Margo's book whipped me into shape to hit the 760 mark in less than 6 weeks -- it completely retaught me how to approach problems, using easy-to-remember phrases to break down tough concepts and equip me to tackle variations on even the toughest word problems.
